An idiot speaks. . .you do not have to feed dogs a lot of meat, dillbrain. Socks gets, hmm haven’t weighed it, say 150g pet mince in the morning. In the afternoon she gets a bigger meal, pasta and veges that I make up once a week:

1 bag pasta
4 bags frozen vegies
3 eggs
1/3 block cheese, grated.

Cook the pasta, drain, mix in the eggs and cheese then the veges. Bag up and freeze. This is the diet recommended by a vet.

Do not feed your dog or cat kibble for every meal—very highly processed food, shortens their life span! Kibble is OK when travelling or as a treat or in a kong or other toy but for normal meals: raw meat and eggs and veges.

Can supplement—let them lick out the yoghurt pot, give them some bits of cheese.

BTW—walking your dog is good for you, do a couple kilometres a day, longer walk on the weekend.

PLEASE—don’t give your dog canned food. It smells disgusting and is largely gelatin shaped to look like meat.

Once a month Socks gets a can of sardines—human grade sardines but the cheapest one, Black and Gold, $1.15/can. Think it might give her something meat etc doesn’t. As she gets older will increase that to 2 cans a month—fish oil good for bones and joints.

Oh yeah—give your dog cheese. Dogs are supposed to be lactose intolerant (bullshit I reckon) but there is no lactose in cheese.
