Let me test to see if I can control my egocentric personality:

I have a problem with alcohol. But at least I keep my drinking to a minimum. When I last got stoned, I was also drinking. You would think that would be the last of my booze. But no.

Marijuana is allowable if you are not driving anywhere, or drug affected in public. Otherwise, steer clear of the drug.

My own father is in the senile zone between life and death. It's hard to speak ill of him, on the contrary I must say he was always loving and a very good teacher. He was a bit distant, and from an early age he expected adult morals and thinking of me. How I reacted to that was bad, but his intentions were good.

At the moment, he is still alive and approaching his early-mid 70s. But, for the last 30 years, I have had to keep relationships I had secretive from him. My teenage years were filled with him running off my girlfriends when he refused to change his filthy habits of being regularly unclean.

Becoming an alcoholic, I recognised why my relationships were drying up in recent years. If only I quit drinking alcohol back in the year 2005. Not only would I be a grandfather by now, I would probably be 2 million dollars richer in assets.

Sage advice there, aquascoot.

My own personal battles with alcohol are family related. If I did not drink, I did not sleep. How many times have I gotten into fights with my community, trying to protect my family and friends from severe injury? I have lost count.

Even ambulance personnel from late in the year 2005 have said that I should just take a month off work, have a few drinks, and forget about protecting other people from themselves.

Unfortunately, since 2006, I have been drinking regularly. Sometimes to the extent that I passed out in February this year. Again to that extent, back in May this year. My doctor said that I have had 2 strokes in the last 10 months. One more might put me in hospital for an extended stay.
