I love how the Right likes to characterise this as a matter of Freedom of Speech.  In reality it is more about power.  The Australian Government has the power and Elon Musk does not.  Australians have never enjoyed Freedom of Speech.  Australians have always been subjected to censorship.  Elon Musk needs to recognise that, just as the Right Wing Wallies do.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Albo having memes of himself removed from social media shows it is about power from an arrogant egotistical out of touch pm.

AnAl admits to this on video
Quote:
Australian Prime Minister censors memes of himself: "They've removed various sites that were up containing fake images of myself super imposed on other people." 🤡🌏

Pauline predicted this would happen with AnAl and nailed it in this cartoon.

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

What did I say about Right-Wing Wallies declaring this about Freedom of Speech when Australia has never had a Freedom of Speech enshrined anywhere?  Such silly Wallies, thinking we live in the USA or somewhere like that.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

What are the values of democracy?

There are five key values of democracy:

Respect for individuals and their right to make their own choices.
Tolerance of differences and opposing ideas.
Equity—valuing all people and supporting them to reach their full potential.
Each person has freedom of speech, association, movement and freedom of belief.
Justice—treating everyone fairly, in society and in court.

Imaterial, Bobby, until it is actually written down as part of legislation, it is a worthless piece of web garbage.  Until you show me a link to what it is part of legislation, Australians have only five rights - Freedom of Religion, right to vote, The acquisition of property by the Australian Government must be ‘on just terms’, Trial by jury for some offences, State parliaments can not discriminate against non-residents of that state, Only courts have the power to find people guilty of an offence. The High Court further found that there are implied rights such as the Australian Parliament can not pass a law that would impose a criminal conviction, Freedom of political communication because the Constitution created a system of government based on representative democracy.[Source].  Nowhere is there a Freedom of Speech right codified for Australian citizens or residents.

Run along you pseudo-American.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It's far less simple but it has been ruled we do have a right to at least free political speech by the High Court. Democracy cannot exist without at least free political speech.
