I can assure you that the Ukrainians are very much the same

Compromise in local government for Donbas may have blunted the Russian sword. It was claimed the devolution would give Russia a grip on Kyiv which sounds nonsense, as it's 'local' by definition. Zelensky might have been able to go halfway but didn't.

you are deluded by ancient tribal instincts.

Repetition of 'freedom or death' of the pygmies is part of your illogic, which is the point I'm debating. I never mentioned 'freedom' and veto at least keeps the UN alive.

"At least keeps the UN alive"...what for?

As many people have been killed in wars since 1946, under US hegemony no less, as died in WW2 itself.

(Note:   I want the UN to exist, but why do YOU want the  UN  "to be alive"?)

Quote:
I noted the lack of veto on Korea 1950, which you didn't respond to.

I must have missed it; I always respond to 'good faith' questions like that.

The communists - backed by Russia and China's UNSC veto went to war to prevent the US takeover of Korea.

(google)

The causes of the Korean War (1950-1953) can be examined in two categories, ideological and political. Ideologically, the communist side, including the Soviet Union, China, and North Korea, desired to secure the Korean peninsula and incorporate it in a communist bloc.

Fair enough, the land is contiguous.

Any political negotiation from the West, to avoid war?

Of course not: 'freedom values' trumps all, including life itself.

Quote:
So Ukraine war stops when Trump speaks?

Yes, given his working relationship with Putin.

Quote:
Does Putin obey Cicero?

No: neither Trump nor Putin are rational  enough to understand Cicero; but Trump was prepared to use his power as commander in chief of the world's greatest military, to negotiate with Putin, to avoid war.

Quote:
N Korea was equal to UN armies.

With Russian and Chinese backing (and their UNSC veto)  - N.Korea would have disappeared in a week without that backing; China suffered huge casualties in the war.

Quote:
Vietnam and Afghans beat US,

American public opinion beat the US in Vietnam (in the "baby killing" war); and they didn't spend the resources needed to conquer Afghanistan.

Quote:
so how is Pentagon stronger in the field on the Russian border?

Because Trump only needed to threaten its use, spiced with some negotiations  re Russians living in majority Russian-speaking areas in  Ukraine.

Quote:
Trump doesn't like the nukes?

No.

Quote:
And so......?

He's not so sure Putin can't be forced into using them.

There you see: all your 'good faith' questions, though based on your "freedom or death " ideological delusions, dutifully answered.

the arrest of Hamas in exchange for implementation of UN res 181?

erm...cof cof...'freedom or death'?

Hamas is the extremist outfit resulting from the failure of the UN to establish the Palestinian state, as per UN res 181, and also the subsequent intransigence of the Israel lobby during the Camp David accords in the US. Israel has no intention of accepting divided sovereignty in Jerusalem,  nor even the UN (res 181) policy of a UN-administered Jerusalem on behalf of all three Abrahamic religions.

Why did the UN fail to implement international law?

Quote:
Yeah go for it, bomb Gaza and win, easy. Outlaw Iran, yup. Too easy. Are you tribal?

As already pointed out (in answer to your 'good faith' questions re Trump and Putin), negotiations to avoid war can achieve wonders, if you hate war and can negotiate from strength - in this case, the strength of the Pentagon (given the weakness of the UN).

But you aren't even capable of considering using the UN to negotiatiate with the Islamic world: a Palestinian State as per UN res 181, in exchange for disbandment of Hamas and abandoning ridiculous  oppression of women.

That's what the UNGA is for: to achieve the triumph of rationality over insane ideology and blind tribal instincts.

It's an objective comment and I'm irrelevant.

Which statement is correct? Taiwan voted with US as PRC was not in the UN.  The UN vote was for war and Russia refused to obey the law.

Yes, given his working relationship with Putin.

Did Trump stop the Donbas fighting and get a treaty with Putin?

Quote:
chimera:  Does Putin obey Cicero?
No: neither Trump nor Putin are rational  enough to understand Cicero; but Trump was prepared to use his power as commander in chief of the world's greatest military, to negotiate with Putin, to avoid war.

Then why quote Cicero?

Quote:
chimera: N Korea was equal to UN armies.

So UN armies and US are not sufficient to enforce UN law, with or without veto.

Quote:

Biden threatens and Putin talks of his nuke strikes.

Quote:
chimera: Trump doesn't like the nukes?
He's not so sure Putin can't be forced into using them.

And that negates all your points. Sorry.
Next contestant.

Last night, the enemy attempted to land on the Crimea-2 platform at the Golitsyn gas field. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the enemy used 14 Willard Sea Force boats with members of the special operations forces of the so-called Ukrainian Navy.

▪️The goal of the operation was to seize the drilling rig. According to official data, the Russian Armed Forces managed to destroy eight floating craft, and six more retreated.

▪️The Ukrainian forces that participated in the raid actively used FPV drones, launching them directly from high-speed boats. Thus, the Russian Armed Forces servicemen counted at least 26 hits by drones of this type.

▪️In addition, the enemy actively launched MANPADS at Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft, which were targeting Ukrainian floating craft with cannons and other weapons.

Despite the fact that the latest action in the Black Sea ended unsuccessfully for Ukrainian forces, the Kiev regime will clearly make a new attempt to seize this or another drilling rig in the near future.

📌 It is characteristic that almost exactly a year ago, the enemy tried again and again to land troops on platforms at sea, despite losses and the lack of practical results.

Did he try to crack macadamia nut or did he attempt to bite Putin's penis off?  Shocked

"Putin's Palace" is an Italianate palace on the Black Sea coast near Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The Alexei Navalny Anti Corruption Foundation estimated the cost to be over US$956 million at 2022 prices.  Alexei Navalny is now worth about 20c.
