structure of the 155th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "Anna Kyivska" being formed.
NATO has assigned training of personnel and equipping the brigade with equipment to France. As of September 2024, it was announced that 2.3 thousand Ukrainian servicemen out of 4.5 thousand of the regular number were trained:
▪️1st tank battalion (31 Leopard 2A4 tanks, reconnaissance and air defense platoons);
▪️ 1st, 2nd, 3rd mechanized battalions (40 VAB (French armored personnel carrier) each, fire support, reconnaissance and air defense platoons, mortar battery);
▪️28th Rifle Battalion (3 rifle companies, a fire support company, a reconnaissance platoon, and a mortar battery);
▪️ Artillery group (18 CAESAR self-propelled guns and 20 Milan ATGMs);
▪️ Reconnaissance Company (18 AMX-10RC), an air defense platoon, an engineering battalion, and a UAV unit.
The likely brigade commander will be Colonel Dmitry Ryumshin, who was the commander of the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade in 2023, led the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade during the defense of Avdiivka from January 2024, and was dismissed from his post in March 2024.
