I listened to that 60 Minutes segment about Bryant's mother. It seems that Bryant did confess. He pleaded not guilty at trial. But, he was persuaded to change his plea, to avoid a costly trial.

He confessed to the police when he thought the camera was off.

Watch the video and see for yourself:

I’m talking about the verdict by the Coroner who presided at the inquest into the 35 deaths.

Bryant is a moron, and we can leave it at that as to the credibility of a false confession.

Bryant is too much of a moron to even tie his own shoe laces -
yet along carry out Australia's worst massacre.

Bryant was known to hold people's lives with not consideration. He was even known for yanking the steering wheel of a driver to cause them to go off the road. There are people like that who have psychopathic tendencies. It would not surprise me that he would kill 35 people.

Those are the rumours, anyway.  Those who told that story of wheel yanking had no real way of knowing for sure - kind of a Bruce thing - but when that pub jury is back in... well - they could be just yanking your wheel.

Remember that guy I've told yez about who did twelve years for a murder he had no way of committing - and on the basis of his drunken woman companion at the traveling campfire getting into a rave about how he killed that bloke etc ... when pissed to the gills?

Yes, yes - we all know the 'word' was that Bryant yanked the steering wheel of his benefactor older woman - but she wasn't around then to say Yay or Nay to that.  People criticise 'Deadly Deception at Port Arthur' and its conclusions and thoughts - yet accept without question a single book written after all these events by a journo, in which such things as 'wheel yanking' are mentioned as fact, but without proof or even evidence.

All wrong - Bryant was the real killer behind the JFK job... makes as much sense.... when people WANT to blackball someone, any old story will do no matter how absurd.

I don't know how old this video is of Read.
But, him joking about the Port Arthur massacre is something that really would rub most people the wrong way.

Look deeper - do you think the person described could have done it?

You starting another conspiracy theory, Bobby?

If the insane guy with the crazy eyes didn't kill all those people, who did?

Dunno - the whole thing seems a bit strange.
Bryant is saying that he didn't do it -
he was eating food not killing people.

Witness statements are that Bryant was there. Bryant had at least one firearm on his person. Bryant was found at the scene of a guest house, where he set fire to the house to try and confuse police in his attempt to escape. Here is a video of Martin Bryant's police video interview:

Bryant said he was taken hostage and forced to the seaside cottages .... the usual suspect 'book written later to blacken his name' - arrives at the amazing conclusion that while he - a near moron - was 'behaving tactically' inside the house and holding his cover - he apparently also ran back and forth between the house and an outbuliding, exposing himself to police gunfire during a siege - from memory twice!!

WTF??  I'd pay no attention to this self-serving journo's book written after the event and filled with 'grabs at steering wheels' (trying to kill himself was he?) and other pub stories.... amazing what a bloke can have done after a few schooners.... there's yer Furphy.

You ever lived in a small town?  If you have you know what I am talking about... by the time it travels 10km up the valley, a simple request to the local copper to be allowed to cross the flooding river to get home, knocked back on safety grounds, becomes a dire confrontation between that cop and a licenced security guy ...  WTF???

There's a reason for the term 'village idiots'...... two-headed Taswegians  .... so what if Chopper did meet Martin Bryant?  They had different agendas... apparently Bryant had one  ... Chopper had his own .... Chopper wouldn't have given him a moment's thought or a single word..... "oo's this skinny little blond prick talkin' guns?"

Village idiocy at its very best..... of course Bryant conferred with Roger Rogerson before the massacre... and Rogerson was in on the whole plot..... Neddy Smith supplied the guns ........  FFS .... John Howard supplied the manpower - one was a Frenchman, the other a Yank, both trained in 'black ops'... contracted to the CIA over the years they were.... the Frog was in on the JFK hit, too .....

Christ some of you are gullible...

Nothing, there was no inquest; which is a bit surprising.

That is an interesting thing to say when you are having a meal. He was in a room full of dead people. And it shocked Bryant so little that he could finish his meal, and walk out of the cafe and get arrested by police at the site of a burning guest house. Then Martin could laugh during an interview and smile most of the way through it.

No - Martin Bryant is a halfwit -
he couldn't say what happened with precise grammar and tense.

Martin Bryant could string a competent sentence together in a police interview. Have you watched that "Sunday Night" video of Martin Bryant's interview with police?

Bryant would probably have known of Chopper's reputation for a number of years. But Bryant would likely have said what Chopper did not want to hear. It is just disheartening that Chopper would laugh about it on camera.

Given Bryant's admission to police on camera that he was responsible for the Port Arthur massacre, Bryant was competent enough to know what he was doing. He was doing a suicide by proxy mass murder. He wanted police to kill him. He probably wanted Chopper to kill him. Bryant has attempted numerous suicide attempts in prison. He does not like himself. And he wants to die. If only prison authorities would take their time getting to him.
