We don't know if the taxi drivers did not take Ms Donovan because of her racial background or because of Ms Donovan herself. If she had an attitude, the taxi drivers might have refused her a fare, out of a sense of their own safety.

But, now -- as you said -- we have blatantly African people claim indigenous heritage to avoid a deportation. It is one big scam. Much of the dislike of indigenous people in Australia is because of the coddling of indigenous people with a lot of benefits being given to them. And despite these benefits, we see many indigenous people just drag their feet and remain a burden. I know of indigenous families that did it tough and HAD to use these indigenous benefits. Now, the children have grown into adulthood and have become very constructive members of the community.

Cut the special benefits and bring indigenous Australians in line with every other citizen of this country.

You realise that there are racists out there that are openly racist and can back up their racism with brilliant insight. They are not necessarily bad people. They just have a bias towards their own racial background. The chances are, they probably want to retain their cultural heritage and don't want to lose keeping it in place of those with very different ideals.
