Last night -- late last night -- I was watching a series of youtube videos on indigenous issues relating to why indigenous Australians were failing. One of the reasons given about the Stolen Generations' being failures was because the children did not get to be with their own parents. One adopted woman said that she grew up in a wealthy family, had all the modern conveniences, and turned out very well. But she was devastated to learn that by 1990, she was a Stolen Generation member. She claims that she has no recollection of her time as a baby. Given that she lived a privileged life, it seems quite weird that she claims that her mother passing away 3 years before she found out about her parentage was quite a traumatising experience for her.

Anyway, this time next week, I will post up all the links to the youtube videos to give you an idea of the amount of whingeing going on with some of them.

I'm sure this breach of the law occurs more frequently than is reported - and the only times it makes headlines, is when a celebrity is involved.

There is no 'grey area' here or opening for opinion.
The law is very clear - and requires no special interpretation for ANYONE.

I'M not a taxi driver, but I can understand these laws, without any special education program.

This is a clear case of taxi drivers deliberately breaking the LAW - and they should be punished under the LAW, accordingly and publicly made examples of.

The usual suspects are in a virtue signalling frenzy about the 'racist taxi drivers' without any knowledge of the incident beyond what this woman is claiming. The full story has not been told and there could be any number of legitimate reasons the fare was refused not by one, but two taxi drivers.

But then, facts have never been this lots strong point Roll Eyes

One taxi driver refusing the fare is one thing. But two taxi drivers refusing the fare might speak of a history that Ms Donovan has with the taxi drivers. I am actually doubting Ms Donovan's claim of blatant discrimination based on her racial background. However, given that we have yet to hear the other side of the argument -- and given that the taxi driver(s) concerned in the incident(s), once they are identified, will suffer a lot of backlash from the local (and some blow-in) indigenous supremacists. I do not expect this issue to be resolved until Ms Donovan just gets over it and drops the matter.
