Airports….
Jun 30th, 2024 at 12:27pm

As much as I dislike them!
But I saw a little key ring daughter had “Dubai” and I asked… when did you go to Dubai?
She said when it was a stopover to London (just before lockdown)
I asked what’s the airport at Dubai like?
She said it’s beautiful.

I will be there soon as our planned UK/EU trip is fast approaching.
Stopping in Dubai for a couple days to look around, extra $1500 each of course!
Then I will sample Gatwick airport, then airport at Venice to come back to grey Melbourne airport which we can’t really say is beautiful  Grin
Van Couver was a surprise… peaceful, spacious, beautiful scenery.
There was one airport in our experience we truly disliked! LAX!  Angry

I've been to Dubai Airport many times.

It's big.  Can get your step count up by walking from one end to the other.

Lots of fancy Duty Free shopping outlets in the middle, if that's your thing.

Usually lots of expensive cars on display near the duty free shops too.

There's a few hotels inside, if you wanna get some sleep.

Lots of food.

A couple of bars, with very expensive drinks.

And man, does the air conditioner work overtime.

I've usually arrived there in the early hours of the morning, and it's still around 35 degrees outside and you can feel the heat coming through the windows if you stand close to them.

But yeah, it's a pretty good airport - definitely worth experiencing at least once in your life.

Doha is pretty good now, too.

We will be landing at Gatwick airport (not Heathrow  Roll Eyes) in the evening it turns out.
I need to know which airport hotel is best to stay that’s close by the train station as in the morning we go into London.
With the Olympics on in August in France, we are just narrowly missing all that in September!
We come in on Emirates… so I think it’s the north terminal…

Any advice in advance will be appreciated.
