Can't say I've heard of the new Prime Minister, but he seems to have a good CV.

Sir Keir Rodney Starmer KCB, KC (/ˈkɪər/ ⓘ; born 2 September 1962) is a British politician and barrister who has served as Leader of the Labour Party since 2020. He has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Holborn and St Pancras since 2015, and previously served as Leader of the Opposition from 2020 to 2024 and as Director of Public Prosecutions from 2008 to 2013. Starmer is set to succeed Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom following the Labour Party's victory at the 2024 general election.[1]

Stifling political correctness, also called wokery, will reach new height in the hands of a prime minister that's unwilling to define what a woman is, and takes the knee to the latest divisive woke cause.

Borrowing, and the national debt, likely won't fall because the public sector will expect a cash bonanza when Labour get in, because those working IN it, are Labour’s electoral constituency.

Taxes won't go down to any significant extent, because Labour don't really believe in low taxes and like to mischaracterise low taxes as “trickle down economics”.

In fact, given that the country is so broke, taxes will probably go up to fund Labour’s policy ambitions.

So yes they got a landslide of seats, but with not much of an increase on the vote. It is due to the first past the post system, where candidates can win a seat with a lot less than 50%+1.
