Good question, Bobby.
From his embarrassing RNC speech today:
He recalled the moment he turned his head to look at a chart on a screen to his right, and heard a loud whizzing sound before feeling something hit him "really, really hard" on his right ear. Then, he said, there was blood, "just absolutely blood all over the place".
But there wasn't. There was no blood at all.
The blood only appeared after he spent 60 seconds or so on the floor obscured by half a dozen Secret Service Agents, a lectern, and a metre high barrier at the front of stage.
Why did he lie about the blood, Bobby?
I'm curious.
And why are there no photos of the ear?
Why no medical report from the treating doctor?
Trump said in his speech today that his hands were covered in blood.
Something is wrong with the story.
Yes Bobby. He lied.
The video clearly shows there was no blood on his hands.
Moreover, there are no photos of the injury and no medical report.
The maxi-pad over his ear is covering the truth. Will he eventually remove the sanitary pad and show everyone his injury?
Will he say:
"It's healed perfectly. Miraculously, there's no sign that the bullet ever pierced my ear"?
Yes, Greggery, I think he will. Mr Trump will announce that, no, it was just a bit of shrapnel, a mere scratch. Nothing to worry about, it's all good.
He'll then go on to address the cause of such violent shootings. I'm sorry, he'll say, we need to consider firearm legislation, it simply must be addressed. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anybody. We need to deal with the guns, people.
Thirdly, Mr Trump will raise the issue of violence and hate speech. We need to tone down the rhetoric, he'll say. We need to be able to come together, talk nicely and be respectful to each other. Let's all turn down the volume a bit, and let's get real. I know the fake news loves conflict and aggression, but that's not the kind of folks we are. We're here to solve prob-lems, not make clickbait to sell ads. We need to consider the impression of our words upon our children and young people, impressionable young minds like the fellow who fired the bullet and took a brave man's life, so sad.
It's not all about us, he'll say. Let's think about the kids, and the future of our country.
He'll say all that, Greggery, and more. Mr Trump will use this moment to unite Americans, transform the political dialogue and restore civility and respect to the national political discourse. After that, Mr Trump will hold his hand out to Sleepy Joe, and when Joe takes it, he'll pull him in for a hug.
Look, it may not happen overnight, but it will happen, no?
Or not. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
