Yeah, I read that.  I've gone looking for the quote, it seems like it was in a private donor call, saying:

"I have one job, and that's to beat Donald Trump. I'm absolutely certain I'm the best person to be able to do that. So, we're done talking about the debate. It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye."

It reads like he's trying to deflect away from the debate and shift focus to Trump, rather than the scope of a rifle, but it's still the wrong language to use.

But soft as hell in comparison to what is said by Biden's opponents.

It's funny how the free speech absolutists buckle when it's speech they don't like.

It's the same way they treat cancel culture.  They fight against it as a matter of principle but will try to cancel as many of their opponents as they can, given the chance.
