I agree, Karmala appears to be lost when it comes to forthrightly commenting on the economy; she's a lawyer not an economist.

But so are you lost, which is why you blithely ignored my comments about our dysfunctional neoliberal economies since the neoliberal Reagan-Thatcher Friedmanite free-trade era (which usurped the post-WW2 Keynesian welfare state era).

Trump's answer is a zero-sum trade war with his allies  and foes alike.

Did we ever see any previous President or vice President found civilly liable for rape and convicted of 34 crimes?

keith woods thinks trump is going to lose. he makes a pretty reasonable case for it. i'm not so sure but i suspect the dems are going to be much better at getting out the vote in the handful of decisive state electorates needed in order to win the presidency. he was right both in 2016 and 2020 so he's one ahead of my own predictive record at least.

That's the thing, it's much easier to be energised by the party that represents the majority of the country, and that's the Dems.

The Republicans are a minoritarian party that represents the big end of town over the people.

It's only early days in her campaign, but she stands for things that are broadly beneficial for the country and will get people to vote.

Trump's base already peaked.  The only people still supporting him are those who don't support him, but would never vote blue, and those who will only vote Trump because he's their god emperor.

He's not winning on policy, in fact most people you can ask about his policy will cite things that he failed on, but just lied about.  They've not taken the time to learn more about his record that didn't come from him directly.

They're uninformed but as some here like to say, "vibe with Trump".

And that's fine in a democratic system.

But that support base is finite.  It won't grow now that Biden is gone.

Trump needs to transition to keeping his current base, rather than changing his messaging to get more voters, because if he does that, he'll lose more than he'll gain.

Trump has peaked, and it's only early days for Harris (aka, she's still enjoying the honeymoon).

Donald Trump has been a loser all his life.

He only managed to get into the White House in 2016 because of the electoral college - the American people did not want him as their President.

He was lucky in 2016 - very lucky (and he knows it).

He's won nothing since.

Lost the White House, lost the Senate, lost the House, lost his court cases, lost millions of dollars.

He is the quintessential loser - nobody loses like Trump.

That's not to say he can't get lucky again this November.

However, the way things look now, he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

Things can change quickly though, and there's still 100 days to go.

Ultimately, I hope Woods is right.

The majority of Americans hope he's right too.

That's right.

I said that a few days ago: he shot his wad way too early.

He took on Vance as his VP, because he thought he had the election in the bag - no need to have a VP representing diversity when you know you're gonna win anyway.

But now TRUMP is the old man in the race - the oldest in US history - and his VP pick is a total dud (should have went with Nikki).

If Kamala wins, there will be legal challenges from Trump every other day.

Interesting times ahead.

He didn't simply lose millions.

He was held accountable for his actions, in many cases criminal, and the cost of that accountability has been millions of dollars.

Anyone else, and in fact many of his inner circle who were complicit or willingly contributed to these actions would have served prison sentences for those actions, not losing mere money.

He has in fact been very lucky.

If Trump were to lose, which I'm unsure of, if all we get are legal challenges, the US, and the world, would have gotten off lightly.

"Fail your way to the top"

That sums up Trump far more than Harris.

She has a list of accomplishments that makes her not only suitable, but more than capable for the job.

What did Trump have in 2016?

Failed businesses, failed to pay his bills, failed to get his way to had to use the courts to force it through and all of that led to Trump's record in office.

More failure.

But at the same time, she ended her campaign before the primary votes, that's just an opinion poll you're citing.
