That's the thing, it's much easier to be energised by the party that represents the majority of the country, and that's the Dems.

The Republicans are a minoritarian party that represents the big end of town over the people.

It's only early days in her campaign, but she stands for things that are broadly beneficial for the country and will get people to vote.

Trump's base already peaked.  The only people still supporting him are those who don't support him, but would never vote blue, and those who will only vote Trump because he's their god emperor.

He's not winning on policy, in fact most people you can ask about his policy will cite things that he failed on, but just lied about.  They've not taken the time to learn more about his record that didn't come from him directly.

They're uninformed but as some here like to say, "vibe with Trump".

And that's fine in a democratic system.

But that support base is finite.  It won't grow now that Biden is gone.

Trump needs to transition to keeping his current base, rather than changing his messaging to get more voters, because if he does that, he'll lose more than he'll gain.

Trump has peaked, and it's only early days for Harris (aka, she's still enjoying the honeymoon).

that was the case 30 years ago
for people like bernie sanders its still the case
thats why he got the boot.

read micheal moores book "stupid white people."
michael , a devout socialist, has a quite brilliant opening chapter where he goes on and on about government policies that purely enrich the rich.

the kicker is that micheal reveals these are not republican policies, they are Bill Clintons (including incarcerating 1.5 million black men for minor crimes).

howards battlers were previously staunch labor stalwarts
most of the maga crowd are fairly broke

the dems are now the party of the educated (indoctrinated) white young female in a white collar job.
and they are not the poorest demographic, they are the richest

this election will come down to who can match their "vibrational frame" to their audience.

trump has to walk a fine line between being an upbeat optomist for some sectors and a victim to appeal to some butthurt sectors

same goes for kamala

it will come down to who can read the room best

trump can come across as a dick , kamala can some across as a twit.

they are both reasonable communicators and they are going to have to rely on their gut instincts to harness votes.

as i have said, trump is a master of frame control
there is no way someone who is basicly a bit lazy, definitely a narrcisist and with some pyschopathic tendencies could have gotten into the white house in the first place without having super human powers of persuasion.

can he control this frame?

he isnt getting any younger and he isnt getting any sharper.

the election is harris's to lose (much as 2016 was hilary's to lose.

the best thing harris can do is keep a low profile and try to appear very sane.
if she tries to go toe to toe with trump in the  paradigm at which he excells , she will lose momentum

Only because Congress makes the laws. The Clinton Crime Bill was a form of bi-partisan, consensus politics, much of it written by the GOP.

That's why policies like Obamacare are so watered-down, a problem Karmala will also face, even if the Dems win the House.

In the US, parties are not welded to party policy positions, unike parliamentary democracies like Australia and the UK. US representatives base their vote on the opinions of their voters, lobbyists, etc. This makes the job of house leaders and party whips in the US much more about convincing, rather than just getting members to the house to vote, as occurs here.

Their model enforces bipartisan consensus - something the GOP cunningly exploited under Newt Gingritch and Mitch McConnell.

Biden only won because people were so pissed off with the Covid pandemic.
None of that was Trump's fault - it was caused by the evil Fauci helping the Chinese at Wuhan.
That information was kept from Trump -
Fauci was even the President's advisor.

It had nothing to do with how wonderful Biden and Harris were.  Roll Eyes

I bet the Chinese are still making evil bio-weapons as we speak.

The truth hurts, doesn't it?   Smiley

Clinton and Biden persuaded millions more people to vote for them rather than Trump.

Therefore, according to your very own theory, Hillary and Joe have SUPER, "super human powers of persuasion".

Thanks for pointing that out to everyone   Wink

I'm far from being an expert in this area but I strongly suspect that's another white flag you owe Greg.

And I'm still waiting for the several dozen you owe me from our 'discussions' in the Coronavirus section over the past 2 or 3 years.

Indeed.

He never thinks it through.  Never.

He always forgets that Trump wasn't voted in by the American people - he was voted in by the electoral college.

If Trump is popular & persuasive, Clinton and Biden are even more popular & persuasive.

It's just simple maths.
