Interesting exchange at "she's a DEI hire".

Trump asks for a definition of DEI, despite the fact the initials define it.

Not to give him credit for the sh!t he usually dribbles, but it's highly unlikely that Trump did not know what DEI meant.

More likely he was readying himself to define it as the process of cringing anti-merit hiring  - as being the real definition of DEI - which often it, incidentally, is.

DEI does not exist in the selection of athletes - with the outrageous exception of transwomen in women's sport.

I think it's highly likely that he had no idea what it meant.

He didn't know what NATO was until he was 72.

He thinks magnets don't work when they get wet.

He thinks you'll be electrocuted or eaten by a shark if a battery in a boat gets wet.

This guy isn't playing with a full deck.

Not at all.

DEI, diversity, equity, inclusion is Newspeak. For that reason, it is prudent to ask for a definition because people who bandy DEI around as if it was self explanatory are unable and unwilling to define such ordinary words as "woman", "marriage", "race", "culture", "primitive", etc.

What about DJ and JD tag teaming against Kamala.

Trump is excellent at putting anyone down -

he's the ultimate debate champion.

Putting people down is how you lose a debate, in the traditional sense of what a debate is.

If you have to put down your opponent rather than address the topic, you lose.

But things have changed, the public, and especially Americans are frankly more stupid than they've ever been, despite such amazing access to information that we have today.

If you think someone won a debate because of a sick burn but didn't address the issue, or simply lied about it, a rational person wouldn't in good conscience be able to vote for that candidate.

But we're talking about the same people who believe Trump has won the debate before it's even happened, even if he's chickened out of a faceoff.

Trump seems to unravel when challenged by a woman.  It's actually quite funny.

Trump makes all arguments personal -

he makes personal attacks on his opponents - denigrating them -
I find it amusing to watch.

He sure does.

He's very threatened by strong women.

Just ask his ex-wife, Ivana.

Oh, hang on - you can't.

She accidentally fell down the stairs, died, and ended up buried on one of Trump's third-rate golf clubs in an unmarked, overgrown grave.

Actually, he was evading the question on whether he agrees that Karmala"s a DEI pick.

DEI? You tell me what that means. Go on.

The three journalists on the panel found it impossible to keep him on topic or call out his fibs. You can hear the journalists in the audience yelling out in desperation.

I can't see why it's so hard. No no, back to the question: do you think Karmala is a DEI pick for prez?

When he gets called out, he reverts to distraction, obfuscation or flattery. American journos need to learn how to use closed questions and keep asking.

A simple yes or no will suffice, yes?

Just so, dear boy. JD Vance called Karmala a DEI pick, started by Hannity, who would have got it off an article on Breitbart.

That's the standard GOP formula. Karmala's cackle and DEI-status have been standard Republican messaging well before her nomination. Hannity just pulled it out of the bag.

It's left to posters like you to amplify it as chatter, liking and retweeting away. If one of the chatterers come up with an interesting sidetrack, Breitbart writes another article and the cycle begins anew.

X, the old global town square, ramps up the volume through favourable algorithms. X is now your go-to source.

Shurely shome mishtake, eh?

He went on to suggest that Harris changed her ethnicity from Indian to black and was likely in the throes of suggesting she did so to highlight the anti-merit problem with DEI.

It appears he believes DEI hiring applies to African Americans and not to Indians - as it is also not applied to southeast Asians, so-called whites and Jews.

Mr. Marx to the rescue - though sadly ignored by today's "freedom" ideologues:

"From each according to his ability...."

Your horrible neoliberal markets churn out billionaires alongside paupers.

Deplorable.

Sport is a competition to celebrate superior performance and capability; life is much more than that - and the toilet cleaner at Microsoft is as necessary as the CEO.

Trump says he agrees to Fox News debate with Kamala Harris on Sept. 4

Trump had been noncommittal about whether he would debate Harris.

ByJon Haworth
August 3, 2024, 4:24 PM

Former President Donald Trump has agreed to an offer from Fox News to hold a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Sept. 4, he said in a post on Truth Social late on Friday.

“I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” Trump said in his post.

“The Fox News Debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined,” he continued. “The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!….”

Trump had been willing to go toe-to-toe with President Joe Biden and a debate had originally been scheduled for Sept. 10 on ABC News. However, after Biden dropped out of the race last month and Harris has become the presumptive Democratic nominee, Trump had been noncommittal about whether or not he would engage in a debate with Harris.

Because they are hoodwinked by neoliberal economics which pits taxpayers against taxpayers, and are trying to relate causes of poverty and disadvantage to issues of class, gender, race, etc, instead of the systemic economic dysfunction which causes said disadvantage.

There is no need of disadvantage in a world of plenty.

Frankly, Harris bores me too - but Trump ...well, that's the nuclear option, not pretty....
