I often buy a chunk and slice it up myself.  Get a big one and some steaks and some slices for Chinese etc.

The cow spends its whole life terrified of the abbatoir only to be eaten by the supermarket crowd.  They know, you know.... I am very conflicted about eating meat these days....

I like rump, even when it's a bit tough the flavour is great. I cook it with the fat cap on Smiley

Please don't thank me. Effusive fawning and obeisance of disciples, mendicants, and foot-kissers embarrass me.

Price gouging.
They were selling lamb for top prices last year and
the farmers were only getting one dollar for a whole sheep.

That's their business model, Bobby.

They're primarily in business to make money, not provide people with cheap food.

That's why they are in danger of being broken up into smaller companies -
they got too big for their boots.

Having lived in a regional area and having known farmers myself, I know that the farmers make okay to pretty good money. The bad deal they get is when they have to endure years where there is flooding rain, or years of drought. The supermarkets are giving the farmers a deal to which the farmers have agreed. Realistically, the farmers should be seeking a better deal, once their contracts are ended with the current agreeements.

So you're calling me a liar?

Apologise.

Sheep prices plunge to $1 a head as farmers flood market

In Western Australia, the collapse in prices has been exacerbated by the Albanese government’s move to shut down sheep shipments to the Middle East – trade important to a state that doesn’t have a big domestic market for lamb compared with NSW or Victoria. Prices for some WA producers have dropped to as little as $1 or $2 a head.

So don't eat meat.

Better for absolutely everyone and everything all round.

I will let you earn your potential apology from me if you can post up the rest of that article, and explain the relevance of the 2023's financial year compared to the 2024's financial year. Has nothing changed in the 12 months?
