Officeworks religious descrimation

This is Australia, why are people being vilified for there religion?

If a Jew refused to serve a Muslim I'm sure there would be uncontrollable outrage.

This gentleman needs explore options.i don't expect each way bet Albo would have anything to say.

Australia is a signatory to several united nations policy that protects him from this form of abuse'.

Officeworks ( West farmers) needs to appreciate that they aren't above international law and immediately remove this " manager" from the payroll.

It's always one way. We had a huge lynch mob of angry Muslims looking for Jews in downtown Sydney and no-one batted an eyelid. Whoever identifies as a victim can get away with anything, and the Jews are only allowed to identify as the oppressor.

It absolutely is malicious. Supporting Palestine has nothing to do with denying service to Australian Jews. If they really wanted to support the Palestinians they would be helping Israel kill Hamas. The officeworks manager either supports militant Islamic supremacy or is a complete moron who can't tell the difference.

I agree.  Jewish Australians dont have anything to do with whats happening in the Gaza Strip.   Collective punishment is always wrong.

If i worked there, I would laminate everything for anyone.  Smiley

It shouldn't have happened, but it appears to have been handled properly.

The employee was given additional training, was required to visit the Melbourne Holocaust Museum, and relocated to a different store.

“We concluded that the incident was not due to malice but ignorance,” Ms Hunter said.

She is not there to have a political opinion. She is there to laminate. It's Officeworks, not Howdoyoufeelworks.

Yes. Yes we are.

But they're apparently not worth the 'paper they're written on' and can be safely ignored by governments like ours when it suits them (which is pretty much 100% of the time these days) with no repercussions or penalties for doing so.

Yep, you got it.

The right love to pick on young girls.

She was ignorant, and it was a silly mistake.

Storm in a tea cup.

These conservative snowflakes will find anything to be outraged over.

No it's not outrageous and it's pathetic you play both the gender ( female) and age (16) card.

As a excuse for delibate for her denial of this man's rights, both in law in Australia and internationally

I speculate if it was a Muslim being denied service by Officeworks that person would be unemployed.

You have a right to freedom of religion in Australia.

No 16 year old " manager" has a right to choose to take that away from you or us

It's a slippery slope for West farmers.

What if a young manager supports the KKK?

Will they retrain her because she support whites and won't serve blacks ?

She didn't refuse service because of his religion.

His religion wasn't even mentioned.

No religion was mentioned.

I suggest you watch the video and see for yourself.

Indeed.

Imagine if the newspaper clipping was about Muslims or Aborigines or LGBTQ+ etc, and an employee refused to laminated on the grounds of "not being comfortable" with laminating it because of her political views of Muslims/Islam or Aborigines/Aboriginal politics or gender politics.

Nobody would say, "oh, silly mistake, storm in a tea cup". It would be paraded as proof of Australian Islamophobia and wacism, an dc sexism and homo
- and transphobia.
