You really couldn't make this crap up if you tried. Vance accusing the Harris/Walz campaign of name calling is truly bizarre considering who he's running for election with. You couldn't be any more hypocritical if you tried...
Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance sought to brush off his Democratic rivals’ attempts to brand him as “weird,” claiming that Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, “aren’t comfortable in their own skin.”
“I think what it is, is two people, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, who aren’t comfortable in their own skin, because they’re uncomfortable with their policy positions for the American people,” Vance told CNN’s Dana Bash in an interview set to air Sunday on “State of the Union.”
“And so they’re name-calling instead of actually telling the American people how they’re going to make their lives better,”
he said. “I think that’s weird, Dana, but look, they can call me whatever they want to.”https://edition.cnn.com/2024/08/10/politics/vance-walz-gop-weird-cnntv/index.htm... What about calling Walz millitary record into question when he has never served in combat either....And what about the bloke he is running with for President...Trump ius a weel known coward and avoided anf military service what so ever....You would wonder why these hypocrites make their own lack of service an issue???
After graduating from Middletown High School in 2003, Vance enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a military journalist in a non-combative role in Iraq for six months in late 2005. He completed a total of four years of service. He was part of the Public Affairs section of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and said that his service "taught me how to live like an adult" and that he was "lucky to escape any real fighting". His decorations included the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Vance achieved the rank of corporal. - Source: WikipediaOkay, so a couple of things here. Firstly, he (Vance) was nothing more than a journalist, a member of the USMC public affairs unit who never saw combat. Secondly, he says he was "lucky to escape any real fighting". Sounds like he was too scared to fight. Yes, he was in Iraq for six months, but that was in a non-combat role. Pretty hypocritical of him when he's attacking Walz and his service record, but I'll come to that in a minute. Third and last, he served in the USMC from 2003 to 2007. So, just four years - only long enough to complete his minimum service obligations in a non-combat role. Vance left the USMC with the second-lowest rank in the military as a Corporal.
I find it quite insulting that Vance is smearing Walz and his service record, a man who served in the US National Guard for 24 years and rose to the highest non-commissioned rank in the US military - Command Sergeant Major. He didn't have a public affairs job - he actually served in a combat role in Italy as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Who cares if he retired two months before his unit was due to be shipped to Iraq? He'd served his country in the military for 24 years! Walz has achieved much more than Vance, whose biggest danger during his military service would've been receiving a paper cut. Ouch!
I guess it just goes to show that the Republicans (especially Trump & Walz) have no strategy for countering the popularity of the Harris/Walz campaign. I mean, this is real grasping at straws stuff here! If you're going to attack Walz over his military service, you better have an impressive military record yourself. Next to Walz, Vance looks like a whining puzzy.
Oh, and on the subject of Trump and the military - lets not forget he calls people in the military who died in war "losers" and "suckers". Who in their right mind would want him to be Commander in Chief of US Armed Forces???
