Short term thinking does not solve the problems - it makes them worse.

I think I can speak with some authority here, given that I have aged care experience. But, public age care centres are on the decline. In 20 years time, if you want to look after the elderly parents, you just move in with them (or get them to move in with you). Aged care centres are more about elderly people who have no relatives (or those that are unable) to look after them in their final years.

When the Baby Boomer generation start to overwhelm the age care system, you will find that the elderly will have to live with their children (and sometimes grandchildren) to alleviate the strain on aged care systems.

It is the way of the world. I might genuinely retire from being an aged care worker by the time I am about 80 years old. I don't know yet. The decision is still 30 years away for me to decide.

I will denigrate people who move to another country but refuse to assimilate but insist on living by the cultural norms and customs of the country they left behind.

I denigrate them because they are harmful to the cohesion and social solidarity of the country and culture that has taken them in.

It's funny that many of those who link like you will travel abroad and then complain that the bar or hotel staff don't speak English.

Only a tiny minority of students at a public high school in western Sydney are native English speakers, and the rest need language support, a job ad has revealed.

Arthur Phillip High School in Parramatta has 1,560 students, of which 94% have “English as an additional language or dialect (representing over 40 cultures)”, according to a recruitment notice for temporary teachers posted by the NSW Department of Education.

At the time of the 2021 Census the suburb of Parramatta was 24.8% Australian-born, and only 6.8% of residents had Australian ancestry. 81.3% had both parents born overseas, 35.3% had parents born in India, and 74.5% of households used a non-English language.
