Here is "Memoir of John Robert Cowan Kelly" Australian sergeant who was part of the Russian Civil War.

There are some interesting historical photos there.
You also can google Aleksey Suhanovskiy Archangel local historian who was looking after the Australian memorial plaque and eventually found the grave.
I have couple of videos in mp4 files but can't load them here.

There is also curious English/Russian conversation book given to soldiers.

Walk near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior (Moscow)

[This cathedral was rebuilt in 2000 after being destroyed in Soviet times.]

One of the Patriarch's church services in this cathedral.

This is the Easter Great Vespers.

Very formal with Easter … reminds me when we once took our teens to an Catholic Easter Vigil mass… I’d never been to one before… and as it went for 2 long hours…. my unimpressed then 17 yr old son turns to me and quietly mouthed the words “never again!” Grin

I have to admit 2 hours on them hard wooden bench seats wasn’t pleasant.

The Orthodox Liturgy also lasts about 2 hours, but there are no benches and people stand before God on their own feet. Wink
