Israel wants peace.
Bullcrap. Any Israeli leader who attempts to make peace is assassinated, like former PM Yitzhak Rabin.
Quote:Unfortunately, Palestinians want to slaughter Jews. This is not Israel's fault. The Palestinians are just following Muhammad's example.
How many times must I show that is not true, before you will finally understand it?
Many times I've shown how Arabs and Jews lived in peace for centuries and centuries.
The trouble started with Zionism.
So your proof that the Israelis don't want peace is the fact that they democratically elected a PM who even you admit sought peace?
How about the fact that they do not seek war, did not start any of the wars that Israel has been involved in, and gave back huge tracks of land they won in those wars?
And your argument about them "living in peace" for centuries also does not hold water. Parroting it won't make any difference, so I do not understand your complaint that being a parrot has no effect on others. There are four clear reasons I can think of:
1) Following the European holocaust, the Arabs tried to have their own. They were successful of ridding their countries of almost all Jews. Let me know if you need the numbers again. They were only unsuccessful when they tried to follow it with a military assault on the Jews that fled to Israel rather than leaving lands "owned" by Islam.
2) There are plenty of precedents of Muhammad himself either slaughtering Jews, or expelling them first then years later slaughtering them wherever they ended up.
3) They did not "live in peace". They lived under the subjugation of Islamic law. Democracy, human rights, and Jews being in charge is an affront to all of those things. Tolerating a small number of remnant Jews under subjugation and constant threat of death is not the same as tolerating free Jews creating their own country, creating democracy, giving Jews, Muslims and everyone else human rights etc.
4) LTYC is on the fringe here. Across the Arab Muslim world, his views are the norm. The place is full of little Hitlers spreading the sort of absurd anti-Jewish propaganda that passes for a joke in the west. Perhaps that is why you instinctively come to the defense of the Islamic supremacists.
The religious right which effectively controls Israel does not want peace. That's why Rabin was taken out.
Yet again, for the umpteenth time, I have to show you this because you just keep coming out with the same old lies:
For many centuries, the Muslims ruled Greece. Did the Greeks become Muslims? Did anyone even try to Islamize them? On the contrary, Christian Greeks held the highest positions in the Ottoman administration. The Bulgarians, Serbs, Romanians, Hungarians and other European nations lived at one time or another under Ottoman rule and clung to their Christian faith. Nobody compelled them to become Muslims and all of them remained devoutly Christian...
As is well known, under Muslim rule the Jews of Spain enjoyed a bloom the like of which the Jews did not enjoy anywhere else until almost our time. Poets like Yehuda Halevy wrote in Arabic, as did the great Maimonides. In Muslim Spain, Jews were ministers, poets, scientists. In Muslim Toledo, Christian, Jewish and Muslim scholars worked together and translated the ancient Greek philosophical and scientific texts. That was, indeed, the Golden Age. How would this have been possible, had the Prophet decreed the "spreading of the faith by the sword"?
What happened afterwards is even more telling. When the Catholics re-conquered Spain from the Muslims, they instituted a reign of religious terror. The Jews and the Muslims were presented with a cruel choice: to become Christians, to be massacred or to leave.
And where did the hundreds of thousand of Jews, who refused to abandon their faith, escape?
Almost all of them were received with open arms in the Muslim countries. The Sephardi ("Spanish") Jews settled all over the Muslim world, from Morocco in the west to Iraq in the east, from Bulgaria (then part of the Ottoman Empire) in the north to Sudan in the south.
Nowhere were they persecuted
