That's right. Trump was never going to gain voters from his debate performance.  It was all about making sure he didn't hemorrhage more.

He didn't need to best Harris in terms of a standard debate to do that.  Even though she clearly won over him, all he needed to do was repeat his standard lies and keep his base loyal, which he did.

It's great to see that she's capable of dealing with his debate style, and while she easily got under his skin with the rally comments, the world leaders manipulated him and exposed that he refuses to stand up to Russia or even support Ukraine in defending themselves and wanting them to win.

It was easy to rattle him and he went off on unhinged and lie filled rants.

But again, that's what he needed to do to keep his base happy, but it won't win him any new votes.

So his base, the ones who love the rants, the lies and aren't bothered with reality, will say he won.

And of course, he got a few good shots in.  But at the same time, it showed he has no border policy, no health policy, no climate policy, no jobs policy just that he'll fix it all as President-Elect, before he's even sworn in.

No detail on how and in some cases an admission that he has people looking at it, as in no policy yet.

The vote is 54 days away, and he still has no policy platform.

That's why his target is his base who would support him even if she shot someone in the street.

That's not enough to win.

Hand public sector appointments over the Heritage Foundation.

And give Vladimir Putin foreign policy.

That, in a nutshell, is the big fella's policy platform. He can then stand down, hand the presidency over to JD, and receive his much-awaited pardon.
