They could not find any other job?

Why should/would they? Do you know how much work they put in to get to that role? For them, it's not about the person, it's about the position they hold and their own duty to service no matter who they're protecting. That's highly admirable in my opinion.

Then they are to be pitied indeed.

I doubt that anyone in the Secret Service views their role as merely a job. It demands a unique kind of individual to willingly risk their own life for another. When it concerns family or those we deeply care about, that choice is far easier to make.

For members of the Secret Service, it transcends mere employment; it is a calling rooted in duty and honour for their country. They are acutely aware of their responsibility to protect whoever holds, or has held, the office of the President, irrespective of political alignment.

However, this reflects an older mode of thinking.

What I mean is that, in modern times, there has never been a candidate or former President so swift to exploit the nation, its people, and its legal system purely for personal gain. Trump exhibits a complete lack of duty or patriotism. In fact, he has sought to redefine patriotism within his support base as blind loyalty to himself— not to the flag, the country, or the people, but solely to him.

Thus, I agree with Greggy. I genuinely feel for those in the Secret Service. To fulfil their sense of duty and patriotism, they are compelled to protect the life of someone who would readily betray them, and their fellow citizens, for his own benefit.

One can only imagine how difficult it must have been for his Secret Service detail at the time, witnessing him side with Russia and Putin over his own intelligence agencies. The sense of betrayal they must have felt, knowing full well that they were still bound to take a bullet for a man they viewed as a traitor.

They are forced to sacrifice everything for a person who refuses to sacrifice anything and, moreover, believes it is his right to exploit those who love America for his personal advantage.

This is why I truly pity them.

You are both mistaken.

While the example you highlighted, a woman being attacked for her choice of clothing, is certainly a case of victim-blaming, what has happened to Trump is fundamentally different.

It is more akin to an arsonist breaking into a tobacco store, dousing the premises with petrol, setting it ablaze, and then suffering burns as a direct result of their own actions.

This is not victim-blaming; rather, it is the natural consequence of one's behaviour.

Regrettably for Trump, the fallout from the violence he has been inciting for nearly a decade extends beyond harming his own base or innocent Americans merely attempting to live their lives. The repercussions are now catching up with him, and he finds himself, quite literally, in the line of fire he helped create.

It is difficult for his most ardent supporters to acknowledge this distinction, but that inability to see the difference is, in fact, a deliberate outcome of the MAGA movement.

Trump is a public figure who's comments and statements are heard and acted upon by millions of people....Equating young woman to being raped against a man who has encouraged violence and racism in public is bullshit and shows how the MAGA never take any responsability for their own actions that create this violence....A young women dressing in skimpy bikinis and getting assaulted is not the same as a public figure calling for violence which people act upon....Who in their right mind would ever claim what a woman wears contributed to her rape or is in any way equvalent to a political assasination attempt....Aqua???
