The pagers of Hezbollah supporters could have explosives installed. Apparently, they use these gadgets to exchange or receive encrypted messages. If the Israelis capture a militant or his device, the pager will be detonated remotely, destroying the information. It is possible that the secret services managed to figure out how exactly this is done and send the necessary signal to subscribers.

Pagers and now other comm devices, what do they have in common and why the bangs were localized to Lebanon only?

So did ebil MassAd targeted the 10 year old girl while Hezbollah terror operatives become innocent bystanders?

I strongly doubt that.

Something as violent as an explosion is not necessary to wipe the memory from a device.

It identified the device as an ICOM-V82 handheld VHF radio,
which is a now-discontinued model made by the Japan-based electronics manufacturer ICOM.

NNA said another ICOM-V82 exploded at a house on the outskirts of the nearby town of Baalbek.
Video footage showed fire damage to a table and wall,
as well as damaged parts of what appeared to be a walkie-talkie bearing the label “ICOM”.

Hezbollah is not new to booby traps tactics, In April 2013, a jihadi forum member published a Lebanese
Hezbollah instructional video on how to make a booby-trap or anti-handling device. Arabs used these ideas to booby-trap Palestinian flags on border.

I think no companies are safe now.  If they can put explosives into a device like a pager.  What would stop them from putting it into an IPAD or a iphone?   What if there is a relative of HAMAs leaders living in secret somewhere in Australia, and that device explodes whilst he or she is in the shopping centre.   This is scary stuff!   Cry

My conspiracy theory is that, these were planted with purpose of disrupting communication, in preparation for a ground invasion.   It may have being uncovered accidentally, leading to earlier detonation.

Israel doesn't respect any company or any other country.
They forged Australian passports to help murder a man in Dubai.
Why does anyone continue to do business with them?
Why do we?
We should have broken off all relations with them forever.
They are not our friends.

Israeli diplomat expelled over fake passport affair
online political correspondent Emma Rodgers

    Topic:Foreign Affairs

Mon 24 May 2010

The Federal Government is expelling an Israeli diplomat after it found
Israel faked Australian passports that were used in a hit on a top Hamas leader in Dubai.

Foreign Minister Stephen Smith today condemned the fraud as "not the act of a friend"
and a clear affront to Australia that cannot be tolerated.

"This is not what we expect from a nation with whom we have had such a close, friendly and supportive relationship," he said.

In February several forged Australian passports were used in the assassination of Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.

Mr Smith confirmed investigations by Australian Federal Police, ASIO and ASIS showed Israel fabricated the passports of four Australians who also had Israeli citizenship.

"The high quality of these counterfeited passports points to involvement of a state intelligence service," he said.

"These investigations and advice have left the Australian Government in no doubt that Israel was responsible for the abuse and counterfeiting of these passports."

So why there were no reports about comm devices explosions outside of Lebanon, not even in Gaza?

May be the work was not done by Mossad or for that matter by Israelis.

It could be internal straggle in Hezbollah itself. Nasrallah was Hezbollah leader for 32 years too long and not everybody in the organization were happy with his decision making process especially about the war.

Some of the worlds worst terrorists are dropping like flies with extremely low collateral damage and people are upset?

No surprise we have so many supporters of Islamic terror here.

Motorola is implicated in the exploding pagers because of its association with the Israeli military.

Motorola was once a major manufacturer of pagers and licensed its technology to third partiees.

This will be bad news for Motorola on many fronts.
