When a body gets an injury inflammation happens that triggers the immune response and acts to prevent death from bacterial and viral invasion. We would all die in our childhood without the inflammatory response to injury.

But when we get older inflammation can be the cause of life threatening diseases and conditions like high blood pressure and dementia.

Some of the drugs used to cause weight loss in obese people also reduce inflammation, the system wide inflammation like high blood pressure.

So—is inflammation the cause of life threatening diseases?
