Good evening Bobby.

"It would be the flu, same symptoms, same death-rate".

Really?

I've attached the numbers from the Australian Bureau of Statistics up until July 31st to the bottom of your meme.

2,503 Covid deaths and 310 flu deaths.

Doesn't seem quite the same to me?

By the way... your "It would be the flu, same symptoms, same death-rate, NOTHING out of the ordinary" virus has been responsible for another 1,360 deaths in the US last week.

🇺🇸US weekly COVID update: 131,271 new cases and sadly 1,360 new deaths.

"This is the 6th week in a row with more than 1,000 new COVID deaths in the U.S."

This is the sixth week in a row with more than 1,000 new COVID deaths in the U.S. It's also the 236th week in a row with more than 400 deaths, or 1.2 million deaths in total.

Pretty scary stuff. Especially when the pandemic is supposed to be over.

Might be scary to the "sane majority" if the government and the media informed people about what was happening.

Which they're not doing anymore.

Same applies to Australia and the majority of Western countries (the UK, Canada, etc.).

Let's see what happens when this new XEC variant (which has already arrived in Australia) rips through the population and people start posting on social media that they've "never felt sicker in their lives" and "can't even walk" like what's happened in the UK and Europe.

And our hospitals and health systems, which are already at breaking point in most or all States and Territories, are completely overwhelmed.

I wonder if they will find that at least a bit "scary"? And, will our useless governments (at the very least) recommend mask wearing and other protections? (Spoiler alert: No, they won't - they'll keep their heads stuck in the sand up their @sses and keep pretending there's nothing to worry about by ignoring it).

I'm not "scared".

And, not searching for the "stats" doesn't make them magically disappear or stop the ongoing deaths.

I'll say it again - you should have been a politician. You would be perfect for the "job".

Dear Carl,
I think the meme refers to bad years of the flu.
Sometimes we have only mild years where hardly anyone dies from it.

Influenza has been around forever. Coronavirus was recognised and identified as a virus in the 1960s.

If you get the influenza virus once a year. Eventually, it becomes a once every 2 years. Your immunity builds up protection.

Coronavirus flourished because of the lack of immunity people had with the virus.
