A report will be prepared for the coroner after a man died at a major recycling facility.   Sad

A 31-year-old man has died while at a recycling facility in Sydney’s south.

Emergency services were called to the Cleanaway recycling facility on Little Forest Rd, Lucas Heights, about 12pm on Tuesday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the man but he died at the scene.

The man was at the Cleanaway Lucas Heights facility when he died on Tuesday.

Police attached to Sutherland Police Area Command were also called to the facility.

The incident has been referred to SafeWork NSW.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The landfill facility has listed on its website that it will be “closed until further notice”.

A Cleanaway spokesman told NewsWire the company will “work together with the relevant authorities”.

“At this time, our thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by this tragic event,” he said.

“As this incident is currently under investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

A spokesperson for SafeWork NSW said the watchdog was making inquiries into the incident at Lucas Heights.

“Inquiries are continuing. No further comment is available at this time.”

hi there whitey.

a death in a workplace accident stands out precisely because it is such a rare occurence

how many per year?

compared to during the industrial revolution ?

300 drownings in Oz last year.  no one reports on it because its common
2000 deaths on the road, many undoubtedly driving to work..... not even newsworthy

the stats dont lie, the most dangerous part of the day is the commute. once you are at work, the bosses are so much more safety conscious that you are very safe there until your evening commute

lets have 3 cheers for the marvellous employers of australia for achieving this.

come on now  white knight

express a little appropriate gratitude  Wink

James Hardie asbestos knew the dangers in the late 1970s and it was banned overseas. He kept selling it until 1985. Some of his victims got some cash, by squeezing hard.
