Queensland Election
Sep 28th, 2024 at 9:38am

I did a search for election, and every single hit related to the impending election in a foreign country, which is about as alien to Australia as is China. Is this supposed to be an Australian Politics board, or just a safe haven for pot-heads and deviants?

What gets me in particular is the focus on Youth Crime. I don't have any particular political affiliation, but how stupid do you have to be to believe that increased deterrents and early intervention will solve what is in reality a deep seated sociodemographic issue. I just don't see the average yobbo agonizing over increased deterrents.

Most of the increase in crime is (taking population into account) in South East Queensland, which has also "coincidentally" suffered a significant demographic increase, partly due to interstate migration during the worst of the COVID epidemic. This has put a significant strain on infrastructure apart from anything else.

But how do you solve the problem? There is no simple solution. It's a subject for considerable research as opposed to knee-jerk reactions on both sides of politics.

Interesting post.
Difficult problem.

Unfortunately neither side of government is intelligent enough to deal with it.

My thoughts? It’s actually the judicial system that’s failing. The government can certainly improve the process. One strike your out. Parents forced to pay all costs associated with the crime or as is normal in Qld, crimes.
Your 14 year old daughter steals a car? You as the parents pay to replace it.

It’s as simple as garnish wages and or Centrelink.

Once parents are forced to suffer for their children crimes I believe they will suddenly become more responsible for their children.

I’m not in favour of jail for under 16 for finical reasons.
Our prison are all ready full. We should not have to build new ones.
I fully support the deportation of a child and family if the child is found guilty of a crime.
If you are from overseas and your children committed a crime here his a lift to the airport and a one way ticket to the country you are from.

That’s going upset half the south east population!

Maybe two strikes and you're on the plane 'home'.... citizenship canceled.

Let's go back to my 'provisional citizenship' for a specified period of time, during which you must prove non-criminal by nature (the odd minor offence is OK) and ready to assimilate - two serious breaches mean you're on the plane - no appeals, no questions asked ...... maybe ten years provisional or a graded system like P platers - a year of intensive no crime etc;  five years of maybe a couple of spread out minors, nothing habitual or gang-related, no association with criminal gangs etc; four more years of purity and good behaviour and you can get your citizenship certificate.

Then we look at those of foreign descent born here ... now look at Denmark - they deported one Dorker for crimes and he was born there of foreign parents made citizens ... back on the plane, lort hoved, and back to The Old Country you love to claim is yours by birth and whose gutter standards you adhere to .... hvis du ikke vil være en ordentlig Dansker, så er der flyet!  (If you don't want to be a proper Dane, there's the plane).

What if the kids have absconded from interstate? (usually Melbourne)  There isn't a one size fits all fixit, and they are not all immigrants either.

Exactly!

Send them back where they came from!

What Eva state.

For far too long Qld has been the dumping ground of poo people from overseas or interstate.!
One strike on moving here, 3 years jail on release kicked out of the state.

Your family kicked out on the guilty verdict behind handed down.
Free tickets to the boarder any one related and if you swill dare cross over again-  three years jail and any one associated with you-
Free lift too the boarder. Cycle repeats.

Some weeds survive the strongest spray,

You got get your hands dirty and pull them out one at a time and make sure you get rid of the roots .

Otherwise you beautiful garden will be overwhelmed.

Like poo Sydney is!

**poof**  "Your wish for the future is granted, Mr Albo!  Just look at the picture below!", said the genie.... "What would you like for your remaining two wishes?"

"What about peace in the Middle East?"

"Oh.... I dunno - bit hard that one.... I'd have to take sides, you understand, being an Ali Baba thing..."

"Can we keep Julia and Brittany in Europe then?"

**poof**  "Done!!"

"Now - what about convincing everyone in Australia to accept the Voice By Stealth from the Labor States?"

"Hmmmm - I dunno .........................you reckon we could take another look at that Middle East thing?"

South Western Sydney is probably the only place in Australia I was glad to get out of. I found that common courtesy was in short supply. Maybe it was just one bad experience. Following the bushfires in Bateman's Bay a few years ago, we almost ended up banning contractors from Sydney.  They were always the trouble makers.

What the hell is going on with you people in metropolitan cities? You yuppies would not survive a night in any town north of Maroochydore -- or west of Ipswich, for that matter.

<sarcasm> Oh, and thank you for the scraps of regional funding that your centralisation program has brought for us, since the 2022 Federal Election, Mr Albanese </sarcasm>

Mr Dutton has a plan to tackle youth crime within the first 12 months of Mr Dutton becoming Prime Minister. Mr Dutton was a Police Commissioner until some years ago.

Just voted, very impressed with the organisation of the polling station. In and out in under 15 minutes.

I will add if it wasn’t compulsory I wouldn’t have been bothered to stop.

We have a quality independent in my area and I was always going too vote for her, I than filled out all the boxes and put labor 2nd last, Lnp dead last.

The quality of people running for government is terrible.

You will never ever hear covid mention in politics.

That got it that wrong it’s all hush hush.

No!
Not forget or forgives!

Qld is coming for you labor.

Both state and federal.
