After I voted early, I campaigned for a couple of hours with a political party that I voted second to last on my ballot paper. I wish I did not do that. However, volunteering for the loser was an enlightening experience. His campaign information pamphlet was okay. But he seemed a bit of a wowser. The other political party campaigners told me that the candidate was a dedicated social worker. All he needed to do was to chew gum for more votes.

Just voted, very impressed with the organisation of the polling station. In and out in under 15 minutes.

I will add if it wasn’t compulsory I wouldn’t have been bothered to stop.

We have a quality independent in my area and I was always going too vote for her, I than filled out all the boxes and put labor 2nd last, Lnp dead last.

The quality of people running for government is terrible.

Couldn't argue with you putting Labor 2nd last...

but putting the Greens above the Labor and the LNP is ridiculous.

They're the ones who you should have put last.

Independents are as useless as tits on a boar pig.

I’m sure the new member for Pittwater would disagree?
Are Teals really independent?

I’m very happy with the independent I voted for, she’s young and interested in our community rather than sliminess and crawling up the political party chain of command.

It’s a valid point about the greens,
I will consider it next time I vote

I'm wary of TEALs for a couple of reasons.

They are yuppies with no finger on the pulse of the real world for many out there, if not most.  Election to a comfortable income to add to their existing etc will not alter that.

They come from areas which are considered to be 'upwardly mobile' and thus the same applies.  In Pittwater I doubt they'd entertain Tent City (Suburb # XX) at all... that would startle the horses and cause acts of indecency in the public squares!!!

Being women to date, they have escaped the real lessons of life through being a Protected Species accorded Accredited Victimhood Status and thus have received endless privileges starting at pre-school, and again therefore, must inevitably remain out of touch, for all of their tenure, with the REAL issues.

Many voters will offer them The Pussy Pass, and will, unfortunately but in real life terms, think that an attractive woman can do no wrong etc.  Political recent history has shown they are AT LEAST equal sharks to men in politics and in (ab)using their privileges of office.  A pretty face can cover a host of evils and often ignorance of the realities - and I speak not as some religious fanatic - but as a realist.  The old adage that the best con persons are the very superficially attractive ones holds here, women as well as men.

Footnote:-  I went through a phase of voting for women on the basis that they should receive a 'fair go', just like our forefathers did when the 1900 referendum (think it was 1900) to give women votes (and yet, in some mysterious way, 'men' kept women down and women had to fight for the vote - snores).  I soon, following the advent of affirmative action by another name in the work I was doing at that time, along with a clear view of the mounting privileges, changed my view.  With the advent of endless rabid feminist pushes for more and more and more despite the realities of modern society, I ceased to vote for them, and now as a matter of principle, just like with Labor, I will not vote for them.

You choose your own way.

Labor is gaining!

Not from any real talent from big teeth watshisname labor dude but more because the Lnp x Newman one term government  failure is finally being forced  get out from his smallest of small targets his hid behind and exposing himself.

And what a absolute cock he is, back behind the rock you crawled out from world be the “ what’s his name “ return to best strategy. No wonder the Lnp didn’t want him saying anything in public!

Finally hearing him making me grateful I follow my Vibe and put this dude from the Lnp dead last

No matter which one of these idiots win?

Queenslanders will be the losers!

I emailed some of the candidates to ask them if they would support what happened to Mt Warning also happening in QLD.

The Greens said they had never hear of the issue.

They AJP were strongly opposed.

No response for Labor or the LNP.

The ABC seems to make a habit of accusing people of lying, while not quoting what they actually said.

I don't live in Queenslund - so some of you should be wondering why I take an interest in the run-down decadent shot-hole ....

The first reason is what freediver pointed out - asking the political parties their views on land grabs, development of private hunting reserves and spiritual retreats, all created by land enclosures to suit the less than 4% minority.  Only a fool would not consider that a clear and present danger to democracy of equals in this country.

The second reason is that these issues are nationwide, and therefore each state, which governments have been leading the way towards this monstrosity, must be handled one at a time.

The third reason is that my children and grand-children live there - and whatever madness is imposed on the people of Queensland by the ivory tower university of today educated twits who handle government departments there and of the type who seek election and advise governments elect there - will affect my children and grand-children and so forth.

So Grampa has drawn a line.... no more - they shall not pass.

If Labor get back in, woe betide you fools up there.... if the LNP get in - woe betide you for other reasons - but at least their ineptitude and self-entitlement and entitlement of their mates is bumbling and not a clear plan such as Labor has - to bring you all down to suit their mates, disempower you in your own country, and thus eventually subjugate you by eroding your rights and privileges in our democracy one at a time and bit by bit.

They shall not pass!

Too many people are inserting their current obsessions as the reason why the election played out the way it did.

It's much simpler than that,

So it's either the coal industry paying off the LNP, or the coal industry paying off the ALP?

Reaction from friends and family are interesting for me in Qld.

All of whom are paid up union members.

“ At least now the union will fight for me instead of protecting their job opportunities in labor “.

Said my son- a high school teacher.

It’s so very true!
