Hezbollah's drone strike near Binyamina on Sunday, which left 67 people wounded, showcases the growing threat posed by drones in modern warfare. The drone used in this attack is believed to be the Mirsad-1, a drone that Hezbollah has deployed for over two decades, originating from Iranian designs.

The Mirsad-1, as noted by experts from the Alma Research Center, is based on Iran's Mohajer-2 model, with slight modifications tailored for Hezbollah’s operations. The drone can carry up to 40 kilograms of explosives, has a top speed of 370 kilometers per hour, and boasts an operational range of 120 kilometers. Hezbollah has utilized the Mirsad-1 for reconnaissance and offensive strikes since 2002, often using it to penetrate Israeli airspace.

Ukraine’s ambassador to Israel laments that Israel did not take up past offers by Kyiv to collaborate on countering Iran-made drones, a day after a Hezbollah UAV crashed into an IDF base, killing four and injuring dozens.

“I don’t want to say now, ‘I told you so,’ but I told you so,” Yevgen Korniychuk tells the Ynet news site. “It has long been clear to me that we are fighting the same enemy. I can say that after the attack on Israel that happened on October 7, [2023], Israel woke up, but there is much more do to.”



At the time, Korniychuk told Channel 12 news, “Tomorrow, you may experience the same Iranian drone attack here.” In October 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the network: “We are fighting against Iran each day, 400 attacks of Iranian drones on our people, civilians, infrastructure. We gave information to Israel and we said ‘help us with air defenses’… We can join against this evil on air defense.”

The Israeli Defense Ministry announced the destruction of 480 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon in two days.

The military targeted rocket launchers, weapons depots, hidden firing positions, and buildings used by the militants.

Ground forces advanced in southern Lebanon. The military eliminated dozens of terrorists and also found a large amount of weapons belonging to the Shiite group. Twenty Israeli soldiers were wounded in clashes with Hezbollah, two of whom are in critical condition.

Israeli media, citing sources in the defense ministry, reported that Hezbollah's missile arsenal had decreased by 50%. However, the Shiite group has not yet seen a shortage of shells. The militants launch dozens of rockets and kamikaze UAVs daily in the direction of the Jewish state.

Israeli intelligence services have detained five supporters of the Islamic State.

According to security forces, the Israeli Arabs planned to commit a terrorist attack at the Azrieli shopping center in Tel Aviv using a car packed with explosives. The terrorists wanted to bring down the towers of the shopping center. During the search, weapons and instructions for creating explosives and IEDs were seized from the perpetrators.

In addition, the detainees distributed IS propaganda materials and were looking for like-minded people for new terrorist attacks.

Qaani – who heads the Quds Force, the IRGC’s foreign operations arm – had disappeared from public view and was rumored in some media to have been targeted in an Israeli strike on Lebanon.

There also were reports about a series of high-profile allegations involving intelligence officials accused of collaborating with Israeli agencies. Among the most recent cases is Esmail Qaani, commander of the elite Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards, who was reportedly placed under guard and questioned as part of an investigation into significant security breaches.
