According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, citing a local shipping official there are oil leaks from underwater pipelines approximately four miles from Kharg Island, Iran's main export terminal in the Persian Gulf (more than 90% of Iranian oil and oil products exports). One can fantasize about the reasons. Official Iranian sources do not comment on the situation.

Hezbollah has published the performance characteristics of two new missiles.

The Qader-2 has a 405 kg warhead and a range of up to 250 km. Like the previous version, the missile is similar in appearance to the Iranian Fateh-110. Militants first used it on October 14 to strike Tel Aviv. The Israeli missile defense system managed to intercept the Qader-2.

Another new product is the Nasr-1 missile. It has a 100 kg warhead and a range of up to 100 km. According to propagandists, the Nasr-1 is guided and has a jammer on board, which allows it to counteract radar detection. The missile is a modified shell from the 302 mm Fadi-2 MLRS (aka Khaibar-1)

The Israeli state broadcaster Kan reports that the death of the head of the Palestinian Hamas Politburo, Yahya Sinwar, has been confirmed by DNA testing.According to Kan, this is being reported by sources in the Israeli security services. They note that establishing Sinwar's identity is facilitated by the fact that he was previously held in Israeli prisons.A source from the Dubai-based Sky News Arabia channel also confirmed the death of the Hamas leader.

Israel has hinted it is plotting airstrikes to topple the Iranian regime as it seeks retaliation for its missile attack earlier this month.

Tel Aviv has been narrowing down its targets to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its volunteer paramilitary force as it consults the US on its response, The Times has reported.

Although it is unlikely one round of missile strikes would topple the Iranian regime, it has been suggested by a western official the strength of the attack could encourage opposition from within.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video statement addressed to the Iranian people: 'Don't let a small group of fanatic theocrats crush your hopes and your dreams … The people of Iran should know: Israel stands with you.'

'When Iran is finally free — and that moment will come a lot sooner than people think — everything will be different.'

'Our attack will be deadly, precise and above all surprising,
they will not understand what happened and how it happened,
they will see the results.'

Netanyahu has also also promised its arch-foe will pay for its missile attack that ultimately killed no one.

Washington labelled it as ineffective and the Israeli government previously described it as a 'failure'.

Reply #73 - Oct 19^th, 2024 at 6:24pm A photo of a THAAD missile defense launcher has appeared online, which arrived in Israel as part of US aid to protect the Jewish state from a possible missile attack by Iran. The equipment was spotted near the Nevatim airbase and was heading, judging by the signs, somewhere to the north of the country.
