Twenty years ago, the Capricornian state electorate decided to abandon any further special help towards indigenous communities in the region. Fifteen years ago, it was reported that crime rates had dropped dramatically.

Heard this from my former neighbour who thought Woorabinda was probably a decent these days, by comparison. The police station, and medical centre there are open available 24 hours a day, even if they staff the places a couple people at a time for on-call purposes.
