Just read an article where Dutton has requested that the PM reschedule Question Time so that MP’s can fly to Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup. For once I agree with Labor and am against this. For one thing, they’re paid to be at Parliament serving the country. Secondly, who would pay for those MP’s to fly to Melbourne? Yep, taxpayers. I hope Albo says no.
If I could demonstrate how much I rolled upon the floor laughing my arse off, in terms of a meme, I would probably score that singular point that RayGun could not get at the Olympics in Paris during her competition.
Prime Minister Dutton.... err, I mean, Prime Minister Alboridgenese would be the one expecting taxpayers to pay for the flights to Melbourne to watch the Melbourne Cup. Considering that Mr Albonese is thinks that the Australian taxpayer should be taxed more so that the freeloaders can get more in their pensions, through that Voice to Free Rides.
I would expect that the reason behind your opinion about the Melbourne Cup stems from this idea that that Melbourne Cup is cruel to horses. Quite the contrary research has been found, which concluded that horses have had extended life spans as a result of horse races. Melbourne Cup winners are pampered with special treatment for the next few months. The runner ups are also treated very favourably. That includes the jockeys and their sponsors.
