Am I the only one who finds it interesting that there appears to be a double standard at play in the United States when it comes to Donald Trump? If you watch the news coverage and do a side-by-side comparison between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the differences are glaringly obvious. Imagine if you had ex-staffers of Biden coming out and saying he loves dictators, wishes his generals were more loyal, called dead and captured soldiers suckers and losers, etc then you'd have just about everyone calling for him to be removed from office.

Yet when you see report after report from former staffers of Trump, such as former chiefs of staff and other high ranking administration officials who were members of his inner circle, saying he said these things, you'll notice that the commentary from much of the media (especially the conservative media like Fox News) will attack the messenger, despite the messengers being numerous in their numbers and generally with solid integrity.

Today, we see former White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly being roundly attacked by the conservative media and by Trump himself, calling him a lowlife and a degenerate all because he has claimed that Trump repeatedly complained that American generals were not loyal enough to him like German generals were to Adolf Hitler. It worries me that rather than these news organisations seek to confirm whether the allegations are true, they simply attack the messenger in complete deference to Trump. I don't know about anyone else, but that scares me, as does the things his former staffers - almost all of whom have either refused to endorse Trump and/or have endorsed Harris.

There is a genuine double standard.

Trump has been turning down interviews, refused to face Harris in another debate, appeared to fall asleep at a rally event, is constantly swearing, wandered around on stage appearing to not know where to go, danced around to music for like 40 minutes because his brain appeared to skip and has zero detail when it comes to his policies.

All of those things would be toxic to Biden, Harris, practically any non-MAGA and to a lesser extent, non-Republican candidate.

But for Trump, it doesn't even make it to the headlines.

The "left" won't attack him because of his age and because they defended Biden and his friendly media outlets have been protecting him for years.

Still, with all these people "driving Americans apart", it's good to have a candidate who wants to bring the nation together:
