It was laughable. The rest of the tour group turned on them, leaving them isolated for the ride back. As a white Australian, it was a revealing moment to experience what so many others endure.

The phrase is not just a cheap shot, it’s a weapon of racial hate deployed when logic fails. And yet, here you are, defending it, Frank.

That speaks volumes about you.

But its only a weapon of hate sometimes.

If an aboriginal tells a white person to piss off back to where they come from then that is not racial hate deployed when logic fails is it.

You would not call Lidia Thorpe racist if she said this to a white person would you.

That would still technically be racist.

Racism fundamentally involves prejudice or discrimination based on race, and this can be exercised by individuals or groups regardless of their social or political power.

But you're right that it's only a weapon of hate sometimes, but the examples of Frank and Hanson are perfect examples of it being motivated by racial hate.

How do you stop people from being racist? It is part of our human survival instinct to identify with people of our own racial background.

Nobody is trying to stop him, he's just denying it and playing the victim.

He's not a victim.  He's chosen to act and day racist things, that's his choice.  Despite the tears, he's chosen this.

He is just someone who will defend the use of racial slurs, continually use them himself, and advocate for incredibly racist things.

If he's so proud of his behaviour to the point of defending it in himself and others, he should have the courage to admit what he is and stop having a sook when he's called out for his behaviour like a little bitch.

I just notice this idiotic bilge. Proud? Admit? Sook?

When did I ever complained or was a sook or a 'victim' because you or Bbwian or the grimacing son of Pakistan or creepy groggy or thicko as mince-o called me racist or told me to piss off to Denmark?

You are just mouthing off with automatic sloganeering like the rest of the miendless kids.

Oh - what is the 'incredibly racist thing' I advocated for? Remind us.

You're lamenting that you can't indulge in overt racism without facing consequences.

You're throwing a tantrum, posturing as the victim of your own deliberate actions and choices. That isn’t victimhood.

It’s accountability.

Dismissing a phrase like “piss off back to your country” as non-racist doesn’t erase its bigoted history. This sentiment is steeped in xenophobia, weaponised to demean and silence. You know this, and that’s precisely why you cling to it.

Nobody is stopping you from using such language, but you will face the repercussions, just as Hanson has. If accountability offends you, perhaps you’d feel more at home in a country that turns a blind eye to racially motivated abuse. Ironically, such a relocation might make you the outsider enduring the very disdain you so readily project.

I recall an encounter in Hawaii, chatting with a Texan couple on a snorkelling trip, just as COVID restrictions had lifted so we were one of the first international people there at the time and the only non-US people on the trip.

They ranted about my supposed “imprisonment” and urged me to “take up arms against my tyrannical government.” When I explained how Australians willingly handed in their guns after a mass shooting, prioritising collective safety, they unravelled.

Their indignation mirrored yours now: emotional, heated, and irrational. I remained calm, systematically dismantling their arguments with reason, which only heightened their frustration. Their final retort? A spiteful “Fu
ck
off back to the land down undah.”

It was laughable. The rest of the tour group turned on them, leaving them isolated for the ride back. As a white Australian, it was a revealing moment to experience what so many others endure.

Grin Grin Grin   Oh, so you LIKE getting up people's noses?? Just look at the emotional language you use. You think your bilge is calm and rational.

I doubt very much that there was a Texan couple and don't believe for a moment that they told you to **** off just because you calmly explained how the gun buyback happened after Port Arthur. Your account here is just made-up Bbwianesque shite.

My wife and I initially engaged with the couple because the other passengers on the boat, a family from California with young kids, clearly didn’t get along with them. The tension between the two groups was palpable, and even in June 2022, the societal divisions we witnessed felt as pronounced as the arguments one might encounter here on these forums.

It was slightly shocking how normalised the division was between ordinary people in the real world.

At first, we humoured the couple out of politeness, after all, we were all stuck on the same boat, heading to the far side of the island to reach the “good spot.” But almost immediately, they launched into a monologue about Trump. We found ourselves nodding along and pretending to entertain their views, which included parroting obvious fabrications that they had seemingly absorbed uncritically.

It wasn’t until they finally shifted focus and asked us about our origins, rather than talking endlessly about themselves and how their country was supposedly "better off" without immigrants, that the conversation took a sharp turn.

The experience was deeply revealing. The moment we stopped placating them and started challenging their assertions, mostly about Australia, they turned hostile. Their were trying to tell me the whole country was locked down and nobody could leave their homes and if this had happened to them they would have overthrown their government.

At first I tried to explain that like the US, we have different states, will of which had difference responses to COVID with various levels of lockdown and mandates, but that just had them dig their heels in because they'd "done their research" and the whole thing was a hoax anyway.

Their frustration at being unable to provoke us into an emotional reaction, mainly because we were just trying to be nice but also, we're on holiday on a boat in beautiful weather just relaxing, coupled with the fact that I could calmly counter their arguments because I'm a nerd who clearly spends too much time on these sorts of subjects here... it culminated in the husband snarling for us to “fu
ck
off back to the land down ‘undah’” in a stereotypical Aussie accent.

At least they left us alone from then on and we ended up talking to the other couple on the ride back which is why I knew they're from Cali.

But we got to see some turtles and it's nice being able to swim in such nice waters without having to worry about stingers.

Do you have to believe this story? Of course not. Does it matter to me if you do? Not in the slightest.

The point is, you seem like someone who has never been on the receiving end of the kind of hate you propagate, so you lack any real perspective on its impact. Not that it would make a difference, empathy doesn’t seem to be part of your repertoire, so even a dose of reality likely wouldn’t sway you.

As a side note, when we visited Hawaii in 2019, seeing 45’s Presidential Portrait as the first thing upon disembarking the plane was an unpleasant start to the trip. By 2022, those portraits were conspicuously absent.  I don't mean since Biden was President that his was up in place, no, they were just gone.

I was expecting to see Biden's but I didn't notice it anywhere.  It was on display in various buildings in Pearl Harbour though.

Well - Hanson hasn't - it's just a civil action with the court soothing the poor widdle furruner's feelings.. that's more important than reality...

If she can't take the heat - get out of the Parliament.... go back to where she wants to belong... we don't care.  And that could apply to the other sheilas apart from Hanson, too!  Equal opportunity all the way with me!!  Hanson is inconsistent and hardly ever puts her party where her mouth is...

These courts need a clean-out as much as politics does... and quite a few other areas in public service etc...   appointed old mates on contract might guarantee that your agenda flows through - but it sure stuffs everyone else up while you all fatten at the trough.

Oh, I have been told lots of times to piss off to Denmark by Bbwiyawn, thicko as mince-o et al, lots of snide little jejune quips from excitable progressives with reference to Danish and Scandi shiteholes.

But it never bothered me because everyone knows, including Bbwiyawn and thicko and the rest, that Denmark is not a shithole.

And you know what makes it different to genuinely shithole places? The people, their culture, customs and how they relate to each other. The stuff that is missing in shithole places. "Pick a Muslim country you'd like to be like. If you don't want to be like any Muslim country, the alternatives are not pretty."

This is obvious and barely needs saying - except to you, perhaps, seeing that you are thinking in cliches and slogans.

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It is a sure sign of dishonest idiots like you ( creepy groggy, mince-o and the like) to delete the second clause of a sentence, splice something else to it and then triumphantly grin at your own supposed cleverness.

This way you also avoid addressing the actual point that was made. Bbwianesque.

He can't.
He can only yawn and soil his nappies.

That yawn means he just crapped himself. Biggus Bwianesque Incontinentius Buttocks.
