Trump's base won't regret the "dictator" persona, that’s precisely what they craved, or at least convinced themselves they wanted. They revelled in hyper-masculine, homoerotic portrayals of Trump, casting him as a powerful, shirtless strongman, despite the evident irony of a soft-bodied, ageing man. He was their closest approximation of a “tough” leader, and through sheer cognitive dissonance, they morphed him into a fantasy of authoritarian virility.

Some frothed over those images more than others, didn't they Bobbi?

They wanted the alpha, the iron-fisted leader, and Trump will undoubtedly deliver his trademark pantomime of strength, just as he did in his first term.

What his supporters will ultimately regret, however, are the policies that slip through in his name—the real, substantive changes executed by the faceless functionaries he’ll unleash. Trump will scatter executive orders without regard to their content, delegating everything else, just as before, to anyone willing to pick up the pieces.

After what Trump learned from the midterms, he’ll abandon all conventional oversight. The 'guard rails' of competence, knowledge, and institutional memory will be tossed aside in favour of hand-picked yes-men—the supposed “best people.” This time right away, not half way through his term.

And while he cavorts at rallies, golfs, and engages in brash press conferences we can't hear on the way to his helicopter, policy-making will be left to those who owe their positions to loyalty rather than expertise.

Without a coherent policy agenda of his own and distancing himself from the tedium of governance, Trump will inevitably delegate to those pushing the authoritarian “Project 2025” agenda. His supporters will ultimately regret the rights they’ll lose and the draconian policies left in the wake of his feigned leadership.

They’ll soon feel the sting of tariffs from a trade war with China, rising inflation and interest rates as a result, rising consumer costs, and the economic gut-punch of watching the wealthy receive tax breaks while they shoulder higher bills. But that’s what they chose.

For the rest of us, it’s a front-row seat to absurdity, a darkly comic spectacle of self-destruction. And as his faithful cling to the belief that any fallout is Biden or Harris’s fault, we’ll be here to remind them of the Trump policies that led to the wreckage they can’t face.

In the end, all we can do is laugh, because what else remains?

We're in it for the lulz now.

We just have to hope his damage is contained to the US.

Did you miss where, as clear as day on camera, Trump said that on day one he would be a dictator? Might have said it would only last a day, but he will have the power to do a colossal amount of damage in just 24 hours.

It will be interesting how it pans out.

Much of what Trump promised, the outcomes, they're not achievable with the path he laid out, so it will be interesting to see where things go.

The trade wars, inflation and interest rate rises that his articulate plan will lead to, matched with the tax changes for the higher end as well as company taxes, the majority of Trump's base, the people who voted for him, will end up paying far more than the elites.

They're going to feel the pain even more than they are now, while being told how good things are because the stock market numbers look good.

That wore off real quick last time.  I wonder how long it will take this time?

Whenever the West thinks of autocrats, they invariably think of the German one, the Chinese one, or the Russian (Georgian) one... Forgetting Mussolini, Franco, Tito, Hoxha, Batista, a plethora of South American, Asian and African ones and a conga line of all the rest.

That's a good point, I don't have any skin in the game, I hope at least.  We'll see what impacts we feel locally as the US returns to a time of instability and unpredictable leadership.

Good thing the USD isn't the world's principal reserve currency, oh wait...

Although I did lose $100 on a bet on Harris.

I've since donated the same bet outlay to the charity that was going to get the winnings should she have beaten him.

How long will Australian interests last if Trump cuts a deal with the CCP, or whoever, that disadvantages Australia?

In Trump's world, there are no permanent loyalties or friends, only Trump's permanent self-interest.

i think he is
bobby brought into the trumps vibe

what is that vibe
'extreme , almost insane self belief and an ability to never give up"
if millions of young white men who have been wanking off in their mummys basements because lefties hate them are now "inspired" trump has improved millions of lives.

he has also singlehandedly ended identity politics.
the left start to be inclusive and stop the victim identity and intersectionality or they are toast

i saw the chicks on the view (rabid leftie feminists)...several of them said we need to listen to what young men, latino men, farmers, blue collar workers are saying to us.

this was a lightbulb moment which hopefully our own rabid lefties can have

from a personal point of view bobby should consider this

trump showed how you can sell anything
trump was a fat flawed convicted despised outsider and he showed all the strategies that one can use to still be able to sell that and find millions of customers

in a market economy, knowing how to market yourself in the business market and the relationship market is key to a fruitful life.

only a fool would not study trump

he is a gold mine of insight into what humans buy and how they think

the left need to admit it to themselves

they are out of touch

study trump, swallow your pride, learn the god dammed lessons

Wake up. 70% of Americans think their country has been go in in the wrong direction for 4 years. And it's no wonder when the best their rulers could find was Biden and then Harris.

All the correctives Trump promised are what they want.  Democracy prevailed despite the lying and cheating,  lawfare and smears by the Dems and thair agit-prop Big Media lackeys.

Much of what I anticipated was proven correct during Trump’s first term. Before COVID-19 struck, cracks were already forming in the U.S. economy under his administration. While he rode on the tailwinds of low unemployment and strong growth, key economic indicators in late 2019 and early 2020 hinted that momentum was faltering.

The reality is that Trump inherited a robust recovery, requiring little more than minimal oversight to keep it on course, a situation not unlike the one he will face on day 1 of his next term. However, Biden’s recovery is admittedly softer, lacking the aggressive rebound Obama was able to deliver, which Trump initially enjoyed.

Yet Trump wasn’t content to let the economy run its natural course. His “tinkering” introduced instability that came to haunt him: a manufacturing slowdown, decelerating GDP growth, rising federal deficits, an inverted yield curve, and a decline in business investment, all began to unfold before COVID eclipsed everything.

In truth, COVID may have been the best political cover Trump could have received, concealing his economic downturn just as it was emerging. The pandemic's chaos veiled his legacy of economic missteps, sparing him from the responsibility of cleaning up his own mess.

Now, with the recovery stabilising, he will be ready to swoop in and claim credit. Yet this time, he plans to deploy more reckless tax cuts benefiting corporate elites, financed by tariffs that tax the very people they claim to serve.

Disagree with me all you like, but facts don’t care about your feelings.

If you would like a policy discussion with what little we know from Trump's campaign, I'd be happy to take part.

Just say the word Smiley

It's all about "what's in it for me"
... and not what's best for my country

Those of below poverty living standards will be expecting SO many miracles from Trump that will be impossible to deliver
Miracles that not even a Democrat Administration could have pulled off.

Today's announcement by Trump of placing nut-job medical conspiracy theorist RFK junior in charge of America's health - including giving him the go-ahead to ban all vaccines.

I don't see much of a future for The Affordable Healthcare Act (the equivalent to our Medicare) brought in by the Obama Admin.
So those living in poverty will live through a resurgence of previously preventable childhood illnesses (measles, rubella, diphtheria, etc.) with no health cover.

Trump is welcoming in fellow madman Elon Musk to play a role in his government,
Just how THAT will play out, is ANYONE'S guess,

MUCH of America will regret this folly, but like Australians - they'll be too proud to admit they were wrong.

It'll be FOUR LONG YEARS before we know

If I was more of an optimist my money might be on a four-year long non-event like the last time - or like the non-event that was the one-term Baillieu Government in Victoria - but he's been given the Presidency, total control of the Senate - and (most likely) total control of the (Government) House

So he'll wield FAR MORE POWER and CONTROL than his first term.

Trump's base is hurting, that's why they looked to him for salvation.

Last time around they had the benefit of the recovery Obama made and things weren't so bad.

Will Trump helping the big end of town and then pointing to the stock market gains be enough this time around to satiate his base?

Or will they turn on him when the tariffs they're forced to pay make things worse?

Trump win vs Harris loss.

[WOKE, LEFTISTS....]
'We, we, we......choose to embrace 'Identity Politics' [and we choose to embrace WOKE, and LEFTIST issues, and TRANS issues] when we fight,
because that is how we will win.'

[BUT when the WOKE, LEFTISTS lose....]     from @ 0.50 in the video
'We lost because the campaign of our opponents appealed to the NAZIS and RACISTS.'

So........whenever the WOKE, LEFTISTS lose [politically] they tell their own constituency....
'We, we, we......are the group with virtue......And it is clear, that those others, those who opposed us, are INTOLERANT FASCISTS.'

So   >> on the morality stakes, <<   for the WOKE, LEFTISTS,
their argument is......

'Heads we win. Tails, they lose.'

My own......

The WOKE, LEFTISTS, have a morality, and they are, a moral group ?   !!!!!

That is B.S. imo.

The WOKE, LEFTISTS, are an immoral collective, imo.

e.g.
The WOKE, LEFTISTS oppose open and free discussion [i.e. open, reasoned debate].
.....they are a group, who will choose to simply 'CANCEL',
and BAN and OUTLAW [and therefore   >> oppress <<   ] anyone who does not agree with THEIR own opinion/worldview.

e.g.
The defunct MSM, and many in the 'political class'.

The WOKE, LEFTISTS cannot even, THEY REFUSE TO, define [IN A PUBLIC SPACE],
who/what a woman is !

Q.
What is a woman or a man ?

It is,     ....you are XX, or you are, XY. ......simples.

Q.
How can any individual discover where merit lays,
and how can any individual possess an informed choice,
in a societal environment where open, reasoned debate,
is able to be BANNED and OUTLAWED,
by a particular entitled group who wishes to control or 'guide' every outcome ?

Such a situation, is absurd.    ....and it is an oppression, by the strong, against those who are weaker [politically].

The right, to Freedom of Speech,
is the foundation,
of all of our freedoms,
and of all of our lawful liberties.

Promoting and encouraging violent and unlawful acts is illegal.

We live in a country in which the people supposedly respect the rule of law.

Without widespread respect for the law of the land, we [our Australian society] would descend into being like Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Somalia, etc, etc - which is exactly what moslems are trying to achieve.

Moslems want to destroy the efficacy of all [non-ISLAMIC] civic institutions in Australia, which help to maintain a peaceful and functioning society.

SUGGESTION;
If you live in Australia and you don't like what ISLAM promotes then you should contact your federal parliamentary representative - EXPLAIN TO HIM/HER WHY YOU DO NOT LIKE ISLAM AND MOSLEMS - and encourage your federal parliamentary representative to try to get ISLAM lawfully declared a proscribed [banned] group in Australia.

Act within the law.

Otherwise we are no better than moslems.

In our reality, there is good,

Choose life.

You have an opportunity to choose life.

Everyone,   ....has an opportunity, to choose life.

The Book of Proverbs, KJV,
here is a a taster........

Proverbs 1

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Psalms 34:11
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15  The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
16  The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Dictator, a king-like figure appointed by the Republic of Rome in times of extreme emergency.

Politically US was modeled mostly  on the Republic of Rome so there is no surprise that in time of extreme emergency a dictator was elected.

One of the other 'put downs' of Trump in recent days, was,
that Trump is afraid to surround himself with strong, intelligent women.

Watching what Biden/Harris have said after the defeat… they were very civil and said they would peacefully give over leadership to trump in January.

They didn’t carry on like pork chops… or like whiny little b1tches accusing him of “cheating” or speaking in a manner that makes extremists go riot at the White House.

US energy production is at record levels - much higher than when Trump was in office. The constraints on energy are Russia and the Middle east. Nothing Trump does can fix that. Fracking is debatable and minimal enough to not really matter.

The only oil production stopped was set for 100% export so it made no difference to US oil supplies anyway.

Trump trying to fix something which is not broken will have no impact on the economy.
