Why did Trump win?
Nov 7th, 2024 at 9:12am

This is my analysis as to why Donald Trump, a convicted felon and habitual liar who consistently attacked the very core of American democracy as fraudulent (i.e. the election itself) won a second term after being rejected by voters four years ago.

The fact that Joe Biden initially ran for a second term and took up a lot of campaigning time is a major factor that can't be ignored. Then there was the substance of the campaign run by Harris, or the lack thereof. She fell into the trap set by Trump when she attacked the person (him) rather than his policies (or the lack thereof) because Trump ran a campaign basically devoid of policy detail but full of empty promises and slogans. Harris' campaign spent too much time focusing on Trump and not nearly enough time on putting her own policy agenda out there to differentiate her from him. Neither Harris nor Trump put any comprehensive plans out there for cost of living, border control, child care affordability, etc and in the absence of any real plans, voters went with the populist candidate.

Harris spent too much campaign time basically saying, "Trump bad, Harris good" without offering any real alternative beyond that and that worked just fine for Trump because his supporters couldn't give a crap about substance - they're populist voters and he just had to tell them what they wanted to hear, which they lapped up. Just look back at Trumps' last term. What did he achieve that he said he would do? Basically nothing. Repealing the Affordable Care Act (i.e. Obamacare) was something he constantly said he would do while campaigning, but did nothing. Building the border wall and getting Mexico to pay for it was another big campaign promise. He failed on both counts - the wall is unfinished and Mexico basically told him to bugger off with regard to paying.

So, firstly on Biden. He was increasingly frail in both mind and body toward the end of his term and should have early on ruled out a run for a second term for the sake of the Democratic Party and the country. The rush to remove him from the candidacy and install his Vice President was a colossal stuff up that was both hasty and should've taken place long ago. Is Kamala Harris a better choice for President than Donald Trump? Without a doubt. Is she the best choice? No. I think the best person to take on Donald Trump was Pete Buttigieg.

Why do I think Pete Buttigieg would have beaten Donald Trump? Look at his record as Secretary of Transportation, where he has excelled. Watch any of his interviews - especially on conservative broadcasters and podcasts. He didn't dance around answering questions - he took the bull by the horns and delivered factual arguments, factual rebuttals and eloquently stated his plans and positions on issues without ambiguity. In short, you weren't left wondering his stance and he also not only called out lies from conservative interviewers but why they were lies. He was very strong in town halls and in formal interviews. Harris obfuscated too much in the rare interviews she gave and offered too little detail on policy, if any at all. Regarding the homosexuality of Buttigieg, it's irrelevant to him running for office, and it's not something Trump could attack without losing a lot of gay voters (and sympathisers) and sending them to the Democrats. Had we seen Buttigieg running against Trump, we'd have seen policy substance running against populist nonsense and I think Buttigieg would have won in the end.

The other big impact on the election result was Trump making himself out to be a victim. He made himself appear to be a victim of government (both state and federal) going after him, even though that isn't the case, in court and at the polling booth through what he claimed without any evidence whatsoever to be a rigged, fraudulent election perpetrated by the Democrats. It might not be a big thing here, but in America, there's a heck of a lot of people who despise government, are suspicious of it and Trump played on their feelings like a fiddle. We all know the election was never rigged but that didn't matter to Trumps' supporters. It's a conspiracy theory that's been debunked many, many times and the proof is in the pudding - Trump won both the electoral college vote and the popular vote and looks very likely to control both the House and the Senate. Rigged election? What rigged election?

Elon Musk. He came into play relatively late in the campaign, but his social media platform gave Trump a huge advantage by allowing the unimpeded circulation of ridiculous conspiracy theories and outright lies while also contributing to the campaign financially in a very big way. There was also confirmed influence from places like Russia and China and Iran in this campaign that undoubtedly would have helped Trump gain votes.

So, that's my two cents. I might be right, I might be completely wrong, but that's how I saw it.

Nothing whatsoever to do with the US Presidential election.

You don't think it's concerning that a guy who has been and will be again the President has said the things he's said about women and has been convicted of felonious crimes against them?

Is there something wrong with Ukraine being given the ability to defend their own country from an invasion by a power hungry dictator called Putin? What would you expect us to do is Australia were invaded by China, or what would you have done about a Japanese invasion of Australia in WWII?

1. Trump is going to rack up even more debt than Biden and Harris, by lowering taxes on the wealthy.

2. Trade-crippling  tarrifs on China will raise prices of everyday items in the US, making the cost of living crisis for low paid workers in the US even worse.

The resulting trade war that Trump is about to start with his ill-conceived tariffs plan will leave tens of thousands of American workers jobless.

Democrats made the error of going with a Woman and Black didn't help either.

We seen in 2016 that the people prefered a clown to a woman.

All it takes is 6%, 8% or 10% of people spread across the country to change an election outcome.

Here we had the option between the worst President virtually ever or a Black Woman.

In the end being a criminal didn't matter, Being a rapist didn't matter, Being an insurrectionist didn't matter, being an authoritarian and a idiocrat not even his tired old brain falling apart mattered. Fact is that the orange clown isn't a woman was all that really counted.

The Americans made their bed. Now they get to pay the cost.

Bullshit - it was about:
the cost of living,
mass immigration,
WW3 starting in Ukraine and Israel

to name a few topics.

Kamala dealt with none of them.

We seen in 2016 that the people prefered a clown to a woman.

All it takes is 6%, 8% or 10% of people spread across the country to change an election outcome.

Here we had the option between the worst President virtually ever or a Black Woman.

In the end being a criminal didn't matter, Being a rapist didn't matter, Being an insurrectionist didn't matter, being an authoritarian and a idiocrat mattered not even his tired old brain falling apart didn't matter. Fact is the orange clown isn't a woman was all that really counted.

The Americans made their bed. Now they get to pay the cost.

Bullshit - it was about:
the cost of living,
mass immigration,
WW3 starting in Ukraine and Israel

to name a few topics.

Kamala dealt with none of them.

All those likely get worse under Trump. Republicans will likely be looking up the 25th and Vance could be a worse disaster.

Vance will be nothing but a puppet VP who will do whatever Trump tells him to do. Should he ever become President for some reason during the next four years, America will have a clueless, spineless beard leading the country into the abyss.

I said from the moment Kamala Harris announced her Presidency that Americans would not elect a black woman....The Democrats are being gracious and accepting of Trump's victory which is the complete opposite of how Trump took his loss in 2020....I look forward to 4 years of chaos and division under Trump!!!

You realise this is precisely what dictators do, right? They install people loyal to them who feel beholden to him and will only tell him what he wants to hear, not what he needs to hear. America will be far worse off for it. There's nothing wrong with having people who disagree with you. It's not a bad thing to listen to more than one point of view. Unless you're Trump and you wrongly think you know better than everyone else, that you're always the smartest person in the room. If what you say happens, it will be a disaster for America's national security.

Her character - compared to Trump - even Epstein said that Trump has no morals at all.

You could hardly make a more ridiculous claim.

Remember when the biggest complaint they had against her was that maybe she might not have worked for McDonalds. Of course there was no evidence that she hadn't.

You think that some proportion of Americans didn't vote based on sex and or colour? That is just ridiculous.

My point is that this was not the election to test them on this it was too important.

The big 5 main reasons IMHO For The Democrats Loss:
1) Inflation, cost of living
2) Illegal immigration/Border failure
3) Persecuting Trump and making him a Martyr to follow and support against the establishment.
(only works if the target caves or in countries with complete control of the justice system).
4) Hiding Biden's cognitive deficiency and getting caught without enough time to hold an actual candidate competition to select a real, talented, Democrat leader.
5) Radical leftists gaining too much control.

There's also no such thing as a safe autocrat... There's always the 'Palace Coup' to worry about... The 'loyal friend' collecting kompromat...

It's why all autocrats ultimately need to murder their close associates and 'loyal friends', or at least trash their reputations in public.

We're apes first, humans second.

Why did President Trump win this election?

President Trump won simply because he consistently had the best & strongest message coupled with the best policies to implement them.

The American People in the tens of millions agreed......

In 2016, 2020, & 2024 more than 60 Million+ Americans voted for him in each of those consecutive elections!!!

First of all, I didn't like either of those two as the candidates.  In a nation of 333+ million, it's simply unbelievable - surely there are many fine upstanding intelligent younger candidates with lots of political experience and who have no red flags where corruption is concerned?

However those were the two candidates ... and if one side calls the other side "deplorables" and "garbage," guess how the electorate is going to vote! Unlike the woke leftists who were slavering at the thought of a Democrat victory and first "black" female president, it was obvious that middle America was not happy.  The problem is the Democrats didn't learn from their previous "unlosable" loss.

Rudd should be recalled.  All those disparaging remarks he made about Trump on social media are now coming back to bite him painfully on the bum.  He's removed them but the Republicans know what he said and that is simply unacceptable for an ambassador from our country.  Between his and Albaneasy's comments, they are not doing any good for our future relations with the US.

There were 16 million more democrat votes in 2020

Where did those votes go in 2024?

Was there not enough time to produce fake ballots for 3am drop?

For my British and European ( and Austealian) friends who are "shocked" and "surprised", here are 10 reasons you didn't see this coming.

Read this short post and then read the replies from our American friends who will confirm what I'm saying.

1. Americans love their country and want it to be the best in the world. America is a nation of people who conquered a continent. They love strength. They love winning. Any leader who appeals to that has an automatic advantage.

2. Unlike Europeans, Americans have not accepted managed decline. They don't have Net Zero here, they believe in producing their own energy and making it as cheap as possible because they know that their prosperity depends on it.

3. Prices for most basic goods in the US have increased rapidly and are sky high. What the official statistics say about inflation and the reality of people's lives are not the same.

4. Unlike you, Americans do not believe in socialism. They believe in meritocracy. They don't care about the super rich being super rich because they know that they live in a country where being super rich is available to anyone with the talent and drive to make it. They don't resent success, they celebrate it.

5. Americans are the most pro-immigration people in the world. Read that again. Seriously, read it again. Americans love an immigrant success story. They want more talented immigrants to come to America. But they refuse to accept people coming illegally. They believe in having a border.

6. Americans are sensitive about racial issues and their country's imperfect history. They believe that those who are disadvantaged by the circumstances of their birth should be given the opportunity to succeed. What they reject, however, is the idea that in order to address the errors of the past new errors must be made. DEI is racist. They know it and they reject it precisely because they are not racist.

7. Americans are the most philosemitic nation on earth. October 7 and the pro-Hamas left's reaction shocked them to their very core because, among other things, they remember what 9/11 was like and they know jihad when they see it.

8. Americans are extremely practical people. They care about what works, not what sounds good. In Europe, we produce great writers and intellectuals. In America they produce (and attract) great engineers, businessmen and investors. Because of this, they care less about Trump's rhetoric than you do and more about his policies than you do.

9. Americans are deeply optimistic people. They hate negativity. The woke view of American history as a series of evils for which they must eternally apologise is utterly abhorrent to them. They believe in moving forward together, not endlessly obsessing about the past.

10. America is a country whose founding story is one of resistance to government overreach. They loathe unnecessary restrictions, regulations and control. They understand that freedom comes with the price of self-reliance and they pay it gladly.

The only good thing about 'Uncle Konstantin' sitting us down and telling us about 'Americans' is that he was clothed and not on all fours.

Kon's learned a lot about 'Americans' from all the billionaire bros he follows around like a labrador.

He and Williamson tell a slightly different story when they're talking together.

These men were diverse: white, black, Hispanic, Asian. A few wore Trump caps, but the aesthetic was more like a university dorm than a MAGA rally. “This is the counterculture” one party goer told me. “This isn’t just about Trump,” another said.

“It’s about Vance and Musk. It’s about American dynamism.”

In the coming days, much will be written about working class concerns – issues that have become familiar focal points for those seeking to understand Trump’s support. But while inflation and border policies will have no doubt played a role in the Republicans’ landslide victory, we might also want to look at the sentiments expressed by these young male voters – voters who represent a new and emerging contingent in American politics.

Nothing about the young men I spoke to appeared particularly conservative or “right-wing”. Yet it was easy for them to explain why they voted for Trump. And if we zoom out and look at broader cultural trends, it should be easy for us to understand too.

If we take a macro perspective, we see that such young men have never known a culture in which males are not routinely described as “problematic,” “toxic” or “oppressive”. Going to university, and working at modern companies, they live in a world of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies – many of which promote an insidious and pervasive form of anti-male discrimination. Yet to talk about it in public invites social ostracism. To criticise DEI is to risk being called a Nazi.

These young male voters know about theories of patriarchy and white supremacy, but they have never known a culture which celebrates the Great Man Theory of history.

Thomas Caryle’s nineteenth century framework for understanding the past is seen as an anachronism, not worthy of serious thought. Today we acknowledge historical figures not for their feats, but for their crimes. Whether it is due to slavery, colonisation, racism or sexism, we tear down the monuments of our past, while building no new heroes for our future.

The problem with this way of viewing the world is that it is alienating and self-defeating. It is also wrong. By any objective standards Elon Musk is a great man of history, who is influencing the course of human civilisation for generations to come. As one partygoer told me: “He caught a f..king rocket with mechanical chopsticks.” Yet despite these achievements, Musk is more likely to be scorned than celebrated by the Democratic establishment.

This tension between achievement and resentment explains much about our current moment. Musk builds space rockets and electric cars. Trump builds skyscrapers and golf courses. Both men represent what was once celebrated in American culture: the capacity of exceptional individuals to reshape reality through force of will. The young men I met that night in Manhattan weren’t just voting for Trump’s policies. They were voting for a different view of history and human nature. In their world, individual greatness matters. Male ambition serves a purpose. Risk-taking and defiance create progress.

This is why the Trump victory transcends conventional political analysis. It represents more than a rebuke of border policies or inflation rates. It signals a resurrection of old truths: that civilisation advances through the actions of remarkable individuals, that male traits can build rather than destroy, and that greatness – despite our modern discomfort with the concept – remains a force in human affairs.

The election wasn’t just a victory for Trump.  It was a victory for a way of seeing the world that many thought dead: one where individual achievement matters, where male ambition serves a purpose, and where great men still shape the course of history.

Commenters on the Lehrmann article:

What a brilliant, incisive and pertinacious article. I am a white male, aged 35, married, 2 great kids, small business owner, house with mortgage, living in the state of desuetude formerly known as Victoria. Precisely the demographic that will initiate the change we need to see. Nobody, no-one nada, goes into bat for us. My mates, our wives, families and friends all are isolated from  policies and attitudes that have become mainstream. Time to rise up and be the change we want to see. I have not felt so invigorated for a long time as I did last evening when it was apparent Trump had regained the Presidency. Time for a change.
....

Great article. Makes me want to be proud of being a man, raise a family, go out and build a great business and employ people….oh wait, I already do! But now I don’t need to be ashamed of my success.

🤣 so what you’re saying is that the US is racist and misogynist ….. how typically leftoid of you.

Why are you obsessed with the color of her skin and not her character, which is the reason she was slaughtered

Are you a racist?

Her character - compared to Trump - even Epstein said that Trump has no morals at all.

You could hardly make a more ridiculous claim.

Remember when the biggest complaint they had against her was that maybe she might not have worked for McDonalds. Of course there was no evidence that she hadn't.

You think that some proportion of Americans didn't vote based on sex and or colour? That is just ridiculous.

My point is that this was not the election to test them on this it was too important.

And Epstein had morals? FFS Roll Eyes

Normally, around election time. Especially this year when I dreamed about that day when I voted for the first time, whilst still hungover. It was my final year of high school, and I was causing mayhem. Chaos was outside on the local radio doing interviews with local candidates.

Long story short, I voted once. Got my name marked off the electoral roll. Then I went and pretended to vote again at another high school. I was almost arrested that day. Had it not been for the intervention of a local police officer who called off the arrest warrant. When I explained my side of the story, he was of the opinion that I did not actually commit a crime at all. Even the police prosecutor thought that there was nothing that he could do to charge me.

Unlike Republicans and the MAGA cult the Democrats and the media have accepted Trump's win and have made no baseless claims of election fraud or cried about how the election was stolen....The MAGA really are pathetic loosers as the last 4 years of crying has shown....The Democrats are making it far too easy for Trump....Storm the Capitol and refuse to accept a Trump win, fight in the courts and riot in the streets....If you don't fight you wont have a country anymore....Bugger the truth or evidence just fight!!!

But just 44,000 votes in Georgia, Arizona and Wisconsin separated Biden and Trump from a tie in the Electoral College.

44,000 votes across three states- that is WELL within the margin of steal.

That large states like California and NY voted Dem hardly mattered: the Dems get their electoral college votes with 50.1% of the vote or 85%. Irrelevant for electoral college numbers.

Oh,  so it's wacism and xenophobia.

BTW, what happened to the 81 MILLION people who supposedly voted for Biden a mere 4 years ago? Only 69 million voted for Harris. Did 12 million turned wacist and xenophobic in 4 years?

Thanks Frank, that is a nice list

The list is driven by Kisin's obsession with ingratiating himself with Americans, similar to Jordan Peterson's obsession.

He is bro-obsessed with Rogan and others, as is Peterson.

Point 1 could be said of dozens of other country's citizens - Australia included.

Point 2 assumes that Americans are the same coast to coast - American cultures differ significantly between north and south and state to state.

Point 3 is a phenomenon noted around the world.

Point 4 Millions of Americans believe in socialism, in that they know the difference between socialism and communism, and even communism is losing its fear factor. There was a MAGA supporter photo holding a sign 'Get your government hands off my welfare'.

Point 5 yes Americans love an immigrant success story, as do Australians, Canadians, the British, Irish &etc... But Americans are no less xenophobic than any other nation.

Point 6 Affirmative action in the US is decades old. DEI is only the latest incarnation of it, but DEI includes gender, sexuality and people with developmental disorders. Also, DEI is on the nose across the Anglosphere. Americans have been holding out on it more than the British.

Point 7 millions of Americans are standing in solidarity with the plight of the Palestinians.

Point 8 The land that gave us L Ron Hubbard, Jim Jones, Joseph Smith, P T Barnum, holy rollers by the sackful ... The shonky conman archetype in the Anglosphere has an American accent!

Point 9 Americans are deeply optimistic people. They hate negativity. Oh really?! All 330 million of them, eh Kisin!

Point 10 Americans support US administrations that do what the f~ck they like regardless of the effect it has on other countries. Mexico resists this with American administrations leveraging the fact that US Administrations are wary of destabilising its border state - particularly because the western half of the US was taken from Mexico and so many Mexicans are US citizens.

Kisim, take your hand off it, you wanker and just get on with doing what you want to do... taking it up the clack to become a US citizen.

Trump got a lot of votes from the poor white sector, the exact same people that Trump's policies will hurt the most. Sometimes people are their own worst enemies.

In many ways the Democrats deserved to lose these votes for their inability to keep their election commitments. Still people shooting themselves in the face is somewhat unpleasant.

You asked....

'Why did Trump win?'

Because the WOKE, LEFTIST   MSM ignored many, many political realities in the U.S./world,
AND CHOSE, to invent their own [often 'doozy'] narratives [no matter how absurd and UNTRUTHFUL those narratives  may have been].

Because LEFTIST POLLSTERS had no idea how to poll persons, who were fearful of being socially CANCELLED if they revealed their true opinions ???
[......so when those who lived in a Democrat district were polled, and asked to declare Harris or Trump,
many said, 'Oh yes, Harris......definitely Harris'.]

Because the WOKE, LEFTIST political class [AOC, Democrats, Biden, Schumer, etc, etc.]
chose to publicly DISRESPECT and tried to socially 'CANCEL' anyone who did not agree with their WOKE, LEFTIST political agenda.
e.g.
'MAGA are Nazis and Fascists',
'MAGA and Trump will destroy our Republic',
'MAGA are extremists, and Trump IS too dangerous to allow to win government.'

Using 'IDENTITY POLITICS' [based upon, a 'guided' 'Vox populi' opinion] to attribute social 'virtue' or social disparagement and hate, to whole groups of people........is stupid and evil.

And not what some 'expert think tank' has declared to be meritorious.

I dislike trump as he is a convicted felon and guilty of sexual assault. He is a sociopathic narcissist. He is abusive, sexist and racist, he has cheated on everyone of his wives. He financially or legally bullies people or fires those that differ from his viewpoint. He is a poor businessman.
He started a riot intending to overthrow an election result, he has divided america and created a lack of faith in the democratic system there.

Has much of that changed substantially ?

I work at a place where the same bullshit I saw 12 years ago is happening again. This time, it is with people 20+ years younger. I'm now experienced enough to handle the situation. But the boss is giving too much leniency towards staff that would have been fired for even speaking the wrong way towards customers. Never mind the threats of violence against customers.

Could you imagine Donald Trump pulling out of the presidential race, and people electing JD Vance to presidency? It would be an absolute disaster. You need an experienced person to run the country.

Or maybe... and I am just putting this out as a theory, Mr Trump has autism. He cannot express himself in ways that other people can understand him. He also has abandonment issues.

Everything you have written in your first paragraph is false. I agree that he incited a series of riots passive-aggressively. But, the guy is a patriot. Mr Donald Trump seems to have a "kill or be killed" philosophy. And if you see this on the world stage in terms of presidency, Mr Trump has a big job to do.

Kamala Harris ran a good campaign. But, how much did she have to drink on election night? Obviously, Ms Harris' campaign had a huge hiccup during her "schooling of Donald Trump" when she almost name-called Mr Trump. When Mr Trump showed stoicism, you could tell that even though Ms Harris won the debate, Mr Trump won the sympathy of voters.

Some polls get only 2 per cent of people willing to answer questions. No matter how you weight the answers to try to reflect the nation’s general social composition, it seems people who answer polls are just unrepresentative.

The polls showed the battleground states as desperately close. But Trump won them clearly, albeit by margins within the polls’ margin of error. Not one poll underestimated Harris. Polls are not much use if they simply declare battleground states an effective tie with a margin of error of 3 per cent, so that if either candidate wins by less than 3 per cent they can claim they were within the margin of error.

Mainstream media also emerge hugely discredited. Until Biden’s devastating debate performance, almost all of them connived in the obvious deception that Biden was cognitively fit to hold office. They were so soft in interviews with leading Democrats and so hostile to Trump and his surrogates, and their characterisation of Trump was often so absurd – fascist, Nazi, and so on – that they probably contributed to Trump’s vote.

The third institution whose credibility tanked was Hollywood and pop stars. What do Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Beyonce and Taylor Swift all have in common? They enthusiastically backed Harris. As political seers, they make good entertainers. I watch Clooney’s movies, but it has never occurred to me that he has any useful advice on politics.

Why would a nice guy like you wanna kill a genius?...
Do you know that the man really likes you? He likes you. He really likes you.

But he's got something in mind for you.
Aren't you curious about that?...
There's something happening out here, man....
I know something that you don't know.
That's right, Jack. The man is clear in his mind, but his soul is mad.
Oh, yeah. He's dying, I think. He hates all of this.
He hates it, but the man's, uh. He reads poetry outloud, all right?...
He likes you 'cause you're still alive.
He's got plans for you. No, no, I'm not gonna help you.
You're gonna help him, man...
I mean, what are they gonna say, man, when he's gone, huh?
'Cause he dies when it dies, man. When it dies, he dies.
What are they gonna say about him?
What are they gonna say?
He was a kind man? He was a wise man? He had plans? He had wisdom?
Bullshit, man! Am I gonna be the one that's gonna set them straight?
Look at me. Wrong! - you.

10. Defendant Trump initiated sexual contact with Plaintiff at four different parties.
On the fourth and final sexual encounter with Defendant Trump, Defendant Trump tied Plaintiff
to a bed, exposed himself to Plaintiff, and then proceeded to forcibly rape Plaintiff. During the
course of this savage sexual attack, Plaintiff loudly pleaded with Defendant Trump to stop but
with no effect. Defendant Trump responded to Plaintiff’s pleas by violently striking Plaintiff in the face with his open hand and screaming that he would do whatever he wanted. Exhs. A and B.

Perhaps he is genuinely the smartest person in the room. Normally, the secret service would clear public toilets so that Mr President can have his bowel movement in peace. And I am sure that Mr Shoot-first-ask-questions-later bodyguard might be very good at the gun range. But, he sure as hell would not do much more than spray air freshener every time the Republican leader farted into the toilet bowl.

Trump won because he is an Independent. His appointments are independents, starting with Musk. He is not establishment Republican - who have been against him as vehemently as the Dems.

He is not a product of the Republican Party, like Romney, low energy Jeb and the rest. Nor of the Democratic Party.
He is the Ralph Nader, Ross Perot, Nigel Farage, Javier Milei of American politics. No surprise that Kennedy, who left the Dems, sided with him, a fellow Independent.

The effect on other non-estalishmentarians in the West will be energizing and profound.

“Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence. Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. … I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star … to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius … and a very stable genius at that!” (Trump in 2018)

If the definition of “smart,” at least for this purpose, folds in raw intelligence, street smarts, intuition, real-world experience, business success, job creation, wealth creation, a fighter’s instinct, and knowing when to roll the dice or to bluff, then Trump might stand relatively high on the presidential “smarts” pyramid.

Just the fact that he got himself elected president of the United States on his “first try,” as he says — on his own, against all odds, as an outsider with zero political experience, amid ridicule and attacks by both political parties, the mainstream media, Hollywood and academia — should get Trump honorable mention for top billing.
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/479815-is-donald-trump-one-of-the-smarte...

Since then we had another 4 years of attacks, Lawfare, assassination attempts - and Trump still won an election, the Senate, the House and the popular vote. That is pretty spectacular. Nobody has ever achieved that in the face of such concerted efforts by the political establishment and Big Media.

What have YOU accomplished, Thicko-as-Mince-o? Did some concreting and sweeping and now play the village idiot from central casting.

Aqua would proberbly agree that four more years of Trump will be entertaining....I never really worried much about American Politics until Trump became President....Another four years will be entertaining and keep everyone guessing what the hell is going on....Who knows Trump might suprise everyone and learn from his first term....The American public have given him their full support so nothing will hold him back???

Trump has 2 years (before the midterms) to demonstrate he understands the causes of this dysfunction which has given us the rust belt (during the last 5 decades); and now the cost of living crisis badly affecting the bottom half of the population.

I've got my doubts; however,  Trump might indeed shake the whole rotten system (from the IMF down) to the core, even if he doesn't fix it.....

Yes indeed.

It would seem that "They're eating the cats, they're eating the dogs" was the biggest 'vibe' leading up to the election.

Actually, that may turn out to be quite prophetic because by the time Trump has finished ruining the US economy over the next 4 years and antivaxxer RFK Jr. has ruined what's left of public health then that may be what a lot of Americans have to do for food - eat their pets.

Especially with the upcoming H5N1 "bird flu" pandemic which is 30 to 40 times more deadly than Covid (which is still about 10 times more deadly than the flu).

Interesting times ahead, that's for sure.

Wrong again, the half of the population living paycheck to paycheck, and even requiring 2 jobs to survive, are angry with mainstream politics.

Doesn't speak well of the American Public Aqua....When a Politician claims he can change the world and stupid people believe him....Trump has made a lot of claims and promises that will be difficult if not impossible to achieve....We have to see if Trump does what he said he will do and what he does he didn't tell anyone about...Trump has to be given a chance to see if his policies work....Let the fun begin!!!

trump is no better or worse then any politician

politicians are basicly clueless

but they have the population fooled

a politician is like a doctor who has done ZERO training for the job but happily sits there writing out scripts all day.

they all do it

and they are not smart people

they are salespeople

what trump senses is that his job is just to get in and then appoint people who DO actually know what they are doing and the piss off to the golf course.

we hear a lot of criticism of musk

musk got rockets into space and even designed something to "catch ' them as they came back to earth

and at a fraction of the cost of NASA

the guy is a genius , no question about it.

the american health system costs DOUBLE any other health system in the world per capita and the american people are THE MOST UNHEALTHY .
life expectancy is falling

RFK wants to shake up the food industry and get incentives for people to eat right and exercise and clip the wings of big pharma

cant argue with that

Yes, it is.

And not just in the US.

It's happening in Australia and many other parts of the world.

Do you know why?

Hint: It doesn't have anything to do with eating right and exercising.

Not at all.  He is not a politician. He is IN politics after a lifetime outside politics.

He is the podcast to the Big Media, direct tweet to bypass the CNN filter. He is always right when he bollocks Big Party, Big Media, Big Bollocks, always.  He cuts through the woke fog and b.s.

He is not climing anything, nor is Musk. Politicians climb, Trump and Musk don't. That is why Trump has been elected - he is not a politician. He is a guy who said, farkit, I am going to do what is right. That's what got him elected. People know he has no other pupose - not money, fame, adoration, approval by the elites. No inauthentic man would withstand the amount of shite they have been throwing at him.  All his critics would shut up at the first lawsuit flung their way. Trump has withstood enormous pressure and has been recognised and honoured for it.

The banter is just a bonus. Drives his detractors to despair - a good thing.

He's a little bit like the Gracchi in Rome. They were tribunes of the people and they were assassinated.

Armchair_Politician wrote on Nov 7th, 2024 at 9:12am:

You're completely wrong. President Trump has been a victim of "lawfare", a political tool used against the innocent by the opposition. In his New York trials he was found guilty before the first word was spoken in court. His business dealing were sound and that skank accused him of rape sometime between 1990 and 2005 without any evidence. We don't want the whole country to look like our democrat run cities or be the financial burden of California.
