I understand what is said, Jasin. It's not hard. It's base conspiracy theories and even baser hero worship of wannabe iconoclasts.

What i will never understand is why. I mean surely, lack of education can't account for it all.

Be assured, i'm not asking you directly. You're an outlier.

Mothra,
you should be thanking all those who supported Trump
as at least we have a better chance of surviving now.
Trump is searching for peace not WW3 with nuclear weapons.

Biden and Putin both want to risk WW3 over 4 little provinces in Ukraine
that no one had heard of 3 years ago.

If Trump bends the knee to Putin and lets Ukraine fall, strengthening Russia, is that a good outcome do you think Bobbi?

If not, how else is he going to resolve that conflict, there by ensuring that won't be a trigger for a world war, on day one?

It’s genuinely fascinating to observe.

After typical elections, the interlude between crowning the president-elect and the inauguration is usually dominated by discussions about their policies: how they’ll achieve them, whether the opposition will cooperate, and what the tangible outcomes might look like for the electorate.

You simply can’t have that discussion with 45.

There’s no coherent policy framework to unpack. Beyond tariffs, which 45’s own base will end up footing the bill for, and cuts to essential services they rely upon (while leaving subsidies for billionaires like Musk untouched), the agenda is essentially a massive wealth transfer via tax cuts for the rich.

These aren’t exactly the kinds of talking points that bolster 45’s image.

Instead, we’re inundated with threads like, “Is 45 the Most Powerful POTUS of ALL TIME?”

It’s a deliberately leading question, designed to sideline substantive debate. Any response that doesn’t align with Scoot’s narrative is dismissed outright as “fake news” or derided as the product of the mainstream media.

Even in victory, there’s an almost pathological desperation to stifle meaningful policy discussions in favour of distractions.

As I said, it's interesting to observe.

I wonder how long it will take for them to default back to full-blown victimhood and claim the establishment is out to get them still.

News flash, you ARE the establishment now.

Policies are not important to the weirdos that infest Ozpol any more than they are important to the MAGA crowd. They're all about culture wars and reserving the right to be a exclusionary and bigoted as they like.

What gets me is the massive amounts of Americans who fell for Trump's overt lies.

There's no denying the financial hardship in the US is a direct result of a post Covid world and wider international politics and that Biden has actually done remarkably well steering through it, leaving the next government in a surprisingly good position, considering ... but still, people fell for the lies.

We shall see how Trump does. I for one am hoping for as little damage as possible.

Hi Pot.

Unlike you Mothra seems well balanced and to understand posts.

On the other hand your posts seldom if ever display any understanding of what they comment on.

Then you're in luck.

All US Administrations since WW2 have run security protection rackets with their allies. Australia has committed to the latest protection racket by signing up for a submarine 'deal' until 2040.

Americas in quite a good position economically
Unemployment at 4.1, inflation about 2.3.

It is a divided nation so bad in that aspect.
trump has promised to gut the government and replace them with trump loyalists, stop medicare and cause accelerated climate damage, give tax cuts to billionaires, oppose unions, increase inflation.
I am sure he will do that

If you are poor or average in america now, tougher times are ahead of you

I hope i'm wrong but i fear that the most disadvantaged Americans will be particularly vulnerable ... and with talk of massive government spending slashes, safety nets for the disadvantaged are always the first thing to go.

Ironically, some of the rapist's most fervent followers will suffer the most under the convicted felon's second disastrous term.

His golf buddies will benefit the most.
