Pixie Skase, widow of Christopher Skase, dies aged 83
Tributes have flowed for the one-time queen of Melbourne’s social set who was married to controversial businessman Christopher Skase.


I had an interaction with Christopher Skase once a long time ago.

At the time I was working in a security control room and we covered the electronic security for the Skase home in Toorak.

This was before he made the move to QLD.

One day, the alarm system indicated loss of signal and I rang the house to check. Christopher answered the phone and he explained that they had a worker in the roof and he had cut a wire. Of course the wire was the one leading from a sensor to the security panel. He was actually very nice and asked that I call him Chris.

He wanted to confirm what the cable would look like. (It was a simple 2 pair cable like a phone line.)

Anyhow, we arranged to get it fixed by one of our techs.

Little did I know then what a dodgy dealer he would turn out to be.
