Remaining Bali 9 to return to Oz
Nov 24th, 2024 at 10:36am

The Indonesian Government has announced that the five remaining members of the Bali 9 Heroin Smuggling Ring will be returned to Australia to serve out the remainder of their Sentences.

Two of the convicted Drug Smugglers Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were executed by firing squad and another died of cancer whilst serving his Sentence.  The only female member of the group, Renee Lawrence was released on parole and deported several years ago.

It will be a "prisoner swap" deal.

This will be a divisive action I guess.

Some will think it is high time they came back, others will think the potential drug dealers should rot in jail over there.

I did feel it was a bit harsh tipping off the Bali authorities rather than simply arresting them here on arrival back in the day.

Nevertheless, some who have lost loved-ones to heroin overdose will probably not be happy that they are allowed back here.   Undecided

A few Indonesian drug smugglers I presume.

Not the first time that this has been proposed. Julie Bishop tried it back in her time as Foreign Minister.

Yeah, there drug smuggling could if not caught , may have killed dozens of 18 years old people and younger or older.

It’s not about them, they aren’t the victims of their crimes.

Scum, do we really even want these low life’s back?

Let them rot in jail.
I don’t want these subhumans walking free in my streets

"If they get good behaviour, they'll be outta there by July"

Remaining Bali Nine members unlikely to be transferred before end of year, as discussions continue

Did you ever consider that the reason why they did this in the first place was that if they chose not to do it, their families would have been killed?

Well firstly, drug manufacture, drug smuggling, and drug dealing should all be legal.

But in this case, drugs were being smuggled to Australia, so it should always have been Australia's jurisdiction to put the "Bali 9" on trial, and to imprison them if found guilty.

Indonesia does not use trial by jury. I have no respect for their courts, and the Australian government should not either.

It’s very confusing in Australia.
You can have your drugs tested for free but be arrested if found with them?

Only Australian politicians are paid such great money to send such confusing messages?

On topic. How are they being welcome home at the taxpayer expenses?

Schapelle Corby

Will it be the same deal she got?

All security and accommodation paid by “ us”?

Do they have agents all ready to trying to do a book/ move deals?

And most importantly- what reality tv show will pay them the most to partake in?

Personally- leave them in indo to rot before they get rich off their crimes?

Did you ever consider that at any stage they could have reached out and acted as double and not only had their family protected but also a more lenient sentence?
Let alone the life’s of people buying their pain?
They are greedy drug mules.
Killing people for their own profits.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.

Unless of course Albo will save you?

Did you ever consider that the reason why they did this in the first place was that if they chose not to do it, their families would have been killed?
