The comments from ABC Chair Kim Williams, whose organisation receives more than $1.2 billion a year in taxpayer funding, were an attempt to distract from the fact his own organisation was struggling with significant drops in audience figures.
The national broadcaster recorded a 3.5 per cent decline across all platforms compared to last financial year, while the drops have been far worse in radio, forcing management to sack multiple hosts in a bid to revamp show formats.
Even though Mr Williams launched an inflammatory, and highly personal attack against Rogan, he confusingly stated he never watched the Joe Rogan Experience.
“I think that people like Mr Rogan prey on people's vulnerabilities. They prey on fear. They prey on anxiety,” he said.
“They prey on all of the elements that contribute to uncertainty in society, and they entrepreneur fantasy outcomes and conspiracy outcomes as being a normal part of social narrative.
"I personally find it deeply repulsive, and to think that someone has such remarkable power in the United States is something that I look at in disbelief.
"I am not a consumer or enthusiast about Mr Rogan and his work. I am not one of the three billion and I'm unlikely to be three billion and one anytime soon.
I never listen to the guy but I know....
Mothra, Bbwian, Sad, Duckshit, groggy, karnal, icky, zzzzzzz ... I've never been shot in the head, but I know it's bad and that I wouldn't like it. Oh, you have been, creep, you have been. White flag accepted. I've never been in the same room as you, but I know it will be bad and that I wouldn't like it. Yes, but as Aquascoot says, you could learn from the experience, no? Wouldn't it be healthy to give up all this Trump nonsense, take a leaf out of the "noble Frank's" book and learn to how become a Superior Man? One could learn, for example, how to knit, speak a foreign language, play the piano, cook a souffle. All superior pursuits as I'm sure you'll agree. What would you learn from the despicable tinted races? How to speak Urdu? Cook a hideous curry? Charm a snake? Drive a rickshaw? Come come. Accept your inferiority, Greggery. The old boy flew here. . The quicker you assimilate to his superior ways, the better you'll be. hi there karnal do you think gwegs 140,000 posts on trump have a....made a difference in the political reality? b....improved the life trajectory of gweg? Hard to say, dear. Do you think Frank's insistence on banning the tinted races from the Western world have: a) Led to any change in Australia's immigration policy? b) Brought Frank back to life? These are the questions of our age, no? If I recall correctly, you see skin colour no different color to hair or eye colour. Immigration? You say. Bring it on. The "noble Chow", the "noble Curry" and his arch-nemesis the "noble Paki" bring many blessings to our fine economy. They work hard, their kids study hard and they add much value to our rich, multicultural tapestry. Perhaps you would care to share your views with Frank. He says he's superior in every way and believes that not sharing this view is the "soft bigotry of low expectations". The tinted races, he says, should be made to feel inferior to Whitey and accept their lowly status, inferior in every way.Do you concur?
