Albo government has a win!
Nov 25th, 2024 at 6:39pm

It’s okay to hate but it’s more important to celebrate.

Albo government has stared down the greens and passed a bill to assist in a solution for our desperate housing crisis.

Obviously it’s not a perfect answer but it’s something that will help and any help is better than nothing.
Well done Albo labor!

The Albanese government is presiding over the longest household recession with GDP per capita going backwards for the past six quarters, in a trend that exceeds any period in the past 50 years and economists warn is likely to continue.

https://content.api.news/v3/images/bin/3a55cc1e17ba220acd46c3759a10edcc?width=10...

Real household disposable income has fallen by 9 per cent since March 2022.

According to the new analysis there has been a 1.6 per cent fall in GDP per capita since December 2022 across six consecutive negative quarters.

Of the eight quarters since Dr Chalmers became Treasurer, GDP per capita has fallen in seven.

Opposition Treasury spokesman Angus Taylor said the current household recession was without precedent.

“Under the Albanese Labor government, Australia is experiencing the longest household recession on record,” Mr Taylor said. “GDP per capita has gone backwards for the past six consecutive quarters. This is completely unprecedented.”

Mr Taylor said Labor was “blind to the storm ahead”.

“The only thing propping up our economy right now is migration and government spending,” he said.

A pre-election burst in spending and a drop in company tax collections are expected to place further strain on the nation’s finances, in what Deloitte Access Economics predicts will be the most severe deterioration in the budget bottom line ever recorded outside of the coronavirus crisis.

As Labor faces the final sitting week of federal parliament and prepares to update voters on the state of the budget, Deloitte estimates Canberra’s underlying cash deficit will be $33.5bn this financial year, $5.2bn worse than expected.

After posting a $15.8bn surplus last financial year, driven by soaring tax collections, the almost $50bn turnaround would represent the largest non-crisis deterioration in Australia’s fiscal position ever recorded.

Albo and Jimbo must be tired of all this winning.

You celebrate too soon.

Smoke & mirrors.

“The only thing propping up our economy right now is migration and government spending,” he said."

That goes to show how desperate things are in this country, and how far backwards we've gone...... and how hard the road to reconstruction is going to be.

Nothing but blood, sweat, labour and tears ahead - I've given you a rough template with vast vision.... time and again... an echo of that was in the Senate this afternoon in discussion of the future of Whyalla and ship construction and such... some of the sidestepping was incredible to listen to ... the endless interruptions were way out of control - Jackie Lambie came up sounding very good and on the issues, calling for green energy steelmaking etc (my GAIA1 plan  - if the 'minister for the environment ' doesn't hand it all off to the fifteen Abos up that way to 'manage' and make the rules ....  Thorpe and a few others were told to shut up.... Ordah!  ORDAH!!

You'd think discussion of something as simple as whether or not Whyalla would continue to produce iron and build ships etc would just go smoothly - but not with this monkey gallery.  Endlessly trying to score some point with interruption and interjections... and we pay half those clowns as ministers assistant ministers and shadow ministers.  FINALLY the 'minister' - imitating Joe Biden in speech - doddered that steelmaking would continue there... and some shipbuilding.... no plans for the future though...

I really wonder if the mood change of the Trump tsunami will was away Albo.

How Australia became the world’s biggest cost-of-living loser
Australians have experienced the sharpest decline in living standards across the OECD since 2019. Voters overseas have turfed out governments for much less.
