Oh, dearie, dearie, me, you seem to think that Lebanese are typical of all Muslims. I've never met a Lebanese but I have served with, studied with and worked with other Muslims who do fit quite well into Australian culture and society. You're also assuming law breakers are typical of all Muslims.
What about the law-abiding ones? Don't they count? You're just a typical Islamophobe. I doubt you've ever met a Muslim in your life. Tsk, tsk, tsk...
No, they don't count, never have. They're useless actually. There may have been thousands of law-abiding mussos in the US. But it only took three mussos to crash into the World Trade Centre.
It's not the law-abiding ones who matter. It's the lunatics, the crazed extremist musso criminal types who infest
every musso community. Ever tried to get the "law-abiding" ones to out these extremists and crims? The police have tried countless times but the "law-abiders" never speak to police ... unless they have a motive.
Remember the 7/7 UK bombers? They said what most people have always suspected .... "behind closed doors there is no such thing as a moderate muslim." That's something you should think about.
I suspect the mussos you
say you worked with in the defence forces were European mussos like Bosnians, Albanians or Kosovos. Althoughly personally, I suspect you're just lying. Especially about being friends. Workmates maybe. But not friends.
The mussos I worked for were Indonesian. One of the most corrupt nations on earth. And they brought their corrupt ways to Australia and got away with it for a very long time.
But very interesting really, especially being raided by the Federal Police, local police and immigration officials. Not something I can ever say I'd experienced before in my workplace.
ASIO has no problem talking to moderate Muslims. Perhaps because they are not heavy handed like the Police? Or you. There are numerous moderate Muslims, you just have to approach them with respect, not insults. I am not astounded that you have the attitude that you do have. It's common amongst Australians who have never talked to Muslims and believe the scaremongering that goes on in the media. There are bad Muslims I don't doubt but I've only encounted good ones, so I think they are rarer than you understand. Tsk, tsk, tsk...
OMG you mean police have to treat the mussos with kid gloves? Criminal or not, they stick together and will never speak to police unless anonymously - and that will only be to gain some sort of benefit for them. Otherwise they will be getting a drive by visit one night from their "non moderate" mates.
As for talking to muslims (non capitalised with the greatest of intent), how and where are these conversations supposed to take place?
For my part working with mussos for 8 years, I can assure you the conversations were more about the accounts than the Qur'an.
But rest assured, it's never so much about the
conversations - rather more it's about observing the behaviours and the actions which speak louder than words.
Taxation fraud, insurance fraud, immigration fraud, export grant fraud, electricity theft, wage theft, non payment of super and entitlements ... I could go on!! But all I can say is if these were an example of
good,
moderate, business muslims, I would hate to see the bad ones!!
And if you've only encountered
good ones - then I can only conclude you've spoken to maybe, one? Two at the most? And if that one or two mussos were someone you were working with, I am certain that you would be more likely to be discussing work related issues ... not having an indepth conversation about Mohammed and the five pillars of Islam.
Personally I think you're deaf, dumb and blind to the bleeding obvious. You mention just one or two muslims you have known but basically discount the tens of thousands of violent Lebanese crims that infest the south west suburbs of Sydney. Where there are shootings every night, cars and tobacconists are fire bombed every night. People are murdered regularly as they fight over drug turf. What is more worrying is that at the moment they only make up about 4% of the population!
And of course, you thought that was only a little get together at the Opera House when thousands of "good" pro Palestinian mussos gathered to violently oppose the Opera House sails being lit up with the Israeli flag in solidarity with the Jewish community after the shocking attack on innocent Israelis by Hamas terrorists.
Basically, I can see that you're just ignorant.
