Trump was right about Haitians

Haiti gang kills 110 people accused of witchcraft.

The National Human Rights Defence Network (RNDDH)
said
a local gang leader had targeted them after his son fell ill and subsequently died.

The gang leader reportedly consulted a
voodoo priest

who blamed elderly locals practising "witchcraft" for the boy's mystery illness.

The killings happened in the Cité Soleil neighbourhood of the capital.

According to reports, gang members seized scores of residents aged over 60 from their homes in the Wharf Jérémie area, rounded them up and then shot or stabbed them to death with knives and machetes.

Residents reported seeing mutilated bodies being burned in the streets.

RNDDH estimated 60 were killed on Friday while another 50 were rounded up and murdered on Saturday, after the gang leader's son had died of his illness.

While RNDDH said that all the victims were over 60, another rights group said some younger people who had tried to protect the elderly had also been killed.

Local media said that elderly people believed to be practitioners of voodoo had been singled out because the gang leader had been told his son's illness had been caused by them.

Rights groups said the man who had ordered the killings was Monel Felix, also known as Mikano.

Mikano is known to control Wharf Jérémie, a strategic area in the port of the capital.

180 Dead: Haitian Warlord Orders Massacre Of Elderly For Using 'Sorcery' To Sicken Son

Wednesday, Dec 11, 2024 - 12:40 AM

Yet another gruesome gang horror has played out in Haiti, as at least 184 people -- most of them elderly -- were variously slashed, hacked or shot to death on the orders of a warlord who'd been advised that aging slum residents had used sorcery to give his son a severe illness. Interim Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé called it “a barbaric act of unbearable cruelty.”

The brutality was reportedly ordered by Monel "Mikano" Felix, who leads the Wharf Jeremie gang. The carnage took place on Friday and Saturday in the densely-populated seaside slum of Cité Soleil, a neighborhood in the capital city of Port-au-Prince which The Guardian has called Haiti's "most notorious slum...Much of the slum is an open sewer...infant children bathe in water contaminated with sewage. The stench is unbearable."

'As Massachusetts formally exonerated the last person condemned for witchcraft in the colony, efforts are under way to clear the names of the 46 people wrongfully charged with witchcraft in neighboring Connecticut during the 17th century Puritan witch hunts. 329 years after she was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death, the Massachusetts state senate amended the state’s budget to include a provision to exonerate Elizabeth Johnson Jr., the last of the people convicted during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 and 1693 to be legally vindicated of the false charges. The exoneration provision was included in the final state budget bill that passed both houses of the legislature and was signed into law by Governor Charlie Baker on July 28, 2022.'

Elizabeth may have cast spells on never-Trump voting machines and stolen elections, causing orange skin and rage in an elected president. Baker is from the witch swamp and is wrong to be disloyal to the messiah saviour.

There is no doubt that Haitian Voodoo includes killing cats and dogs. That is an objective fact. The only debate here is whether someone who did that last month in Haiti would do it this month in America. But since it is their faith, it is naive to think they would not.

From the New York Times:
"In this tradition, animals such as cats, dogs, birds, goats, rams, and bulls are sacrificed to spirits and ancestors. The animal's throat is cut after a message is spoken into its ear, and the shrine is covered in its blood. The meat is then cooked and eaten by the attendees, who believe it will bring them blessings."

'For the Pilgrims, giving thanks for the autumn harvest wasn’t a new concept. As a tradition with roots in European harvest festivals and Christian religious observances, “days of thanksgiving” were fairly common among the colonists of New England. Throughout America’s colonial era, communities held their own unofficial Thanksgiving celebrations, and few people associated them with the Plymouth settlers. By the turn of the 19th century, however, turkey had become a popular dish to serve on such occasions.'

This underscores the existential peril misinformation poses to democracy. When individuals like Bobbi, devoid of critical reasoning, not only fall prey to this nonsense but become its zealous apostles, the damage compounds exponentially.

While I’m relieved our local misinformation bill has been shelved, given my absolute distrust of those in power or those clawing to attain it wielding such sweeping authority, it’s undeniable that action is needed.

Education, sadly, is proving inadequate. Far too many of these purveyors of misinformation fancy themselves "informed" and are wilfully impervious to correction.

Hoping for their outdated views and staggering ignorance to naturally fade out is no longer a viable strategy in an era where misinformation, travels at breakneck speed.

I wish I had clarity on what “action” should look like, but even defining the starting point feels elusive.

Perhaps the harsh truth is that we’re left to endure as the powers that be exploit these fools, and the rest of us, until the system collapses under its own weight. When that moment comes, we may have no choice but to let it all burn and rebuild from the ashes.

But I'd prefer it doesn't come to that.  Those who come after us shouldn't have to suffer because some of us were willfully fu

Excellent post.  Summed it up nicely.

Education just doesn't work on people like Bobbi, Frank, JaSin, et al.

They quite simply cannot be educated, either because they don't want to be or they are quite frankly incapable of learning.

It's a sad phenomenon to witness, and I too worry about how it's all going to end.

These people have no concept of truth, facts or reality - all they believe is what's inside their heads and nothing will sway them.
