I think this fear of being taped more of the conspiracy crap the anti vaxers made up. I can understand a doctor not wanting to say anything to a new patient, but all these anti vaxers that have been seeing the same doctor for years, the doc. knows them and their history, and suddenly he's afraid to give them an opinion? The virus was real (some thought it was a hoax) i said it’s real and never in our lives, both my husband, myself and my daughter, were so bedridden and weak/ill (January 2022)
I had it worse!
I phoned the hospital and they asked, if I had chest /heart pain, (no… but the coughing stage worried me) did I have difficulty breathing (no) so they said no need to come to hospital.
I needed a drip… I lost 6 kgs in 10 days…. I felt ravaged. We survived … maybe our lifelong good health regime worked in our favour…? We are good as gold now… no after effects yet I read a lot had weakness for ages after. Long COVID I think it was called.
Only after effects were loss of taste/smell and hair loss.
Within a year it all came back gradually yet another thing to ponder… why it took so long to recover when usually after a week we would be okay.
We only felt weak/lethargic for a month before having our energy back.
But that’s just our story.

It definitely was a vicious virus and one which me and my family never encountered before in our whole lives. It just acted differently to any flu we had before.
So it doesn’t surprise me about this gain of function thing. Could be something to look into if it was a fiddled thing.
