Preemptive Pardons
Dec 16th, 2024 at 9:54pm

Why would innocent people ask for something that no one has ever asked for before? If they were working for the good of the people what do they have to fear?

Oh, dearie, dearie, me, what makes the President to have the power to confer a pardon on anyone, Mort?  No one should be granted a pardon,  if they face the courts.  Even el Presidente himself.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The Democrats have taken personal liberty with American politics. They deem themselves above the law.

mortdooley,

A suggestion for Trump team members.......

FIRSTLY......
Publicly thank the Biden Administration for providing all of these 'Preemptive Pardon' names.........

Even though these individuals may not be able to be prosecuted.......

NOW THAT THEY KNOW WHO TO INVESTIGATE......
Members of Trump's team should seek to amass every scrap of unimpeachable evidences they are able to,
relating to the conduct of these individuals.......

And then, PRINT ALL OF THOSE DISCOVERED EVIDENCES,
IN NATIONAL, MSM BROADSHEETS,
AS PAID, FULL PAGE ADVERTISEMENTS.

THE PURPOSE........
To openly disclose to the American people,      ....what some of these miscreants had gotten up to,
during their SUBVERTED 'service' to the American people.

miscreant = = a person who behaves badly or unlawfully.

.

I cannot imagine that there could be any legal impediment, to doing this.

So long as all of the evidences collected [and publicised] were all unimpeachable.

unimpeachable = = beyond reproach.

Because that fool Trump will do what he complained Biden was doing (but didn't actually do), and weaponise the Justice Department by stacking it with Trump loyalists to create false cases against these people that are purely political and solely about retribution.

Good.

I've said it before, we know exactly the sort of poo show Trump is about to run, it's like the Dems played by his rules.

All those complaining about it now had no problem when Trump did it last time, and you won't complain when he does it again, so keep shedding those crocodile tears, nobody cares.

Dunno, Morty.

You tell us.

"An aide to former President Donald Trump testified to the House Select Committee investigating January 6 that GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida sought a preemptive presidential pardon."

It's no different to the mafia paying off judges.

Trump never gave Preemptive Pardons -

no other President did either.

Don't confuse ineptitude for intent.

Trump explored the possibility of issuing pre-emptive pardons to himself, his family members, and close allies. These discussions emerged amid concerns about potential legal challenges after leaving office.  He couldn't figure out how to do it and gave up.

So, he tried and failed.

And so far for Biden, no action has been taken yet either, unless something has changes since I last looked?

Don't count your chickens mate.

It was widely reported at the time, but here is summary from Fox News,

Quote:
On Dec. 1, 2020, The New York Times ran the headline "Trump Has Discussed With Advisers Pardons for His 3 Eldest Children and Giuliani," alleging that the then-president was mulling "pre-emptive pardons" to Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump as well as his son-in-law Jared Kushner. The report even alleged that Trump was considering issuing pardons "for crimes they have not yet committed — essentially a prospective get-out-of-jail-free card."

There were multiple other reports, but it seems the New York Times was one of the first to make the claim.
