"A man has been charged with the alleged murder of a woman in Sydney’s south west.

About 7.50am yesterday, (Wednesday 11 December 2024), police were called to a home on Knox Street, Belmore, following a report of a concern for welfare.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and located the body of a woman.

She is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be aged 31.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced under Strike Force Perched.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home in Denham Court about 8.30am, and arrested a 35-year-old man, known to the woman.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with:

    Murder (DV)
    Contravene ADVO
Use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order
Fail to comply with digital evidence access order direction

The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 12 December 2024)."
