Vlad - call a halt and pull out of Ukraine.  They won't follow over their border.  You get more by peaceful negotiation than you do by trying to re-create the conqueror.  In 1941 Germany had enormous trade on excellent terms with Stalin - as the German troops attacked, they passed train-loads of grain headed West... if Hitler had traded instead, he would have had a peasantry in the East working their fields to grow grain and exporting it, a compliant neighbour to the East, and a powerful army etc that might have resisted the Western Allies when they landed.... instead he had land untilled and fought over again and again, huge losses, and fought a multi-front war with diminishing resources, a war that he could never win.

It was all madness, Putler’s megalomania, strategic miscalculations. Ukraine is still exporting grain, nearly at pre war levels and with western help their economy is largely intact. And ruzzia has to keep a large army in the field to hold on to the temporarily occupied areas. I see costs but little in the way of benefit to ruzzia.

Having captured whatever land by the time truce talks start ruzzia has to rebuild the temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine and rebuild its own economy with very little demand for its gas & oil. Cost/benefit?
