Merry Christmas everyone - yum - Tiger prawns... no Tiger beer though - good stuff that Malayan ... got an Asahi - quiet one ... hasn't said a word in ten minutes or so... Bloody DNA - I'm related to Peter Allen - distantly though Tenterfield connection - greats on one side... is there no end to it? Be up one day to take piccies of graves and such and chat with some locals.. maybe in Winter - I don't mind the cold - being of Orcadian derivation .....

They're everywhere..... everywhere I tellz yez ... even a Shorten..... spare us...

What's the hold-up, Santa?

I have a beautiful Xmas day story….

My daughter is travelling with her beloved Beaglier dog in car.
We are all meeting up together down at the bay for Christmas.
She decided she needed a coffee so went through the McDonalds drive-through and ordered it.
She was looking at the dar in front thinking what a nice car, and thought probably a nice family too.

She went to pay for the coffee and was told the car in front paid for her order.

There truly are some kind people in this world!

My happy Christmas story is that this is already the third Christmas and New Year that I have celebrated at the front.

Enemy drones fly over our dugout from time to time. Shots from our and enemy artillery and mortars can be heard day and night. Because of the thaw, all the roads here have turned into mud.

But there are opportunities for human kindness here too. More than once, soldiers unknown to me from other units helped me climb up the railway embankment or took my boxes and helped me carry them while we were on the way.
