Yes, Trump won the popular vote and the electoral college. Yes, Republicans won the Senate and the House. But, contrary to both Republican talking points and breathless headlines and hot takes from leading media outlets (“resounding”, “rout”, “runaway win”), there was really nothing at all historic or huge about the margin of victory.

There was no “landslide”. There was no “blowout”. There was no “sweeping” mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers don’t lie.

First, consider the popular vote. Yes, Trump became the first Republican for two decades to win the popular vote. However, per results from CNN, the Cook Political Report, and the New York Times, he did not win a majority of the vote. Barack Obama did in both 2008 and 2012. Joe Biden did in 2020. But Donald Trump failed to do so in 2024.

And the former president’s margin of victory over Harris is a miniscule 1.6 percentage points, “smaller than that of every winning president since 1888 other than two: John F Kennedy in 1960 and Richard M Nixon in 1968”, as an analysis in the New York Times noted last month. In fact, in the 55 presidential elections in which the popular vote winner became president, 49 of them were won with a margin bigger than Trump’s in 2024.

It was a landslide.

Harris wasn't even elected as the Democratic nominee. She has never been elected for anything. She was a puppet's puppet.

A dodged bullet.

Bulldust,

WASHINGTON — The Democratic National Committee announced late Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris had secured the support of 99% of delegates to formally become the party’s presidential nominee, following the conclusion of a five-day virtual vote.

The results, which included a state-by-state breakdown, followed the DNC announcing Friday that Harris had surpassed the number of delegates needed to become the nominee as voting proceeded. She was the only candidate to qualify. The DNC said 4,567 delegates cast their votes for her.

The next steps will be the certification of the roll call by the convention secretary, Jason Rae, and the acceptance of the nomination by Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

why are trump supporters so dumb?

I wish I knew.

Not only was she elected as the Democratic nominee, but also this:

2007 - elected San Francisco District Attorney with 98.5% of the vote.

2010 - elected California Attorney General (overseeing the largest state Justice Department in the U.S.}

2014 - elected California Attorney General (again).

2016 - elected to the United States Senate in California

2020 - elected Vice President.

Some days I think Frank might be having a little too much medication.

We knew it. You always were a war nut. You and your Palestinian Stalingrad Solution?

The Real Americans despise you and your kind. They boo and hiss every time John Bolton appears on the box.

Remember him? Your DL's loyal, longest-serving NSA. Rex Drill Baby Drill Tillerson?

Your DL's Secretary of State. And who could forget the loyal Bill Banged To Rights Barr?

He certainly banged your DL, oh ya. All of them did. Your DL can't possibly do what you say because, as they've all testified, he's a loon. Bloated, obese, yesterday's man, and a pussy-grabbing felon. How do we know?

You said.

No. No they did not.

With a voter turnout around 66% in 2020, the majority of voters did not want Biden  who got a bit over 51% off the 66% = around a third of the voters.

O'bama in 2008, ditto. 61% turnout, he got 53% of that a bit under a third. Even less in 2012, 59% turnout with 51% of that for Hussein Obama. Worse than Dubya in 2004 or Trump in 2024.

In 2016 Trump got 46% of a 60% turnout and still won, to Hillary's apoplectic chagrin.
In 2024 he got half of a 64% turnout.  Better than slick Willy in 1996 or 1992. Better than Obama in 2012 and about the same as Biden in 2020. Importantly, better than Trump himself in 2016.

Did the majority of voters choose the rapist on election day?

No. No they did not.

You coulda said the same about Harris, Biden, Hillary, Hussein O'bama - ...

Biden - 51.3%

Obama - 52.9%

Obama 51.1%

All more than 50%.

Year nine maths, innit?

Of what voter turn-out,  you spineless, creepy mong?

Max 66%, mostly mid-50s.

I'll give you this: you're consistent.

Every time you lose an argument, you change the subject.

Always absolutely never ever, that's the old boy's motto.

Frothing, ranting, spineless, squishy, reflexive, yeah-but-no-but stilts.

The old boy's ventriloquist dummy has finally taken over the old boy. You get that.

The poor thing hasn't changed his schtick since 2015.

Ask yourself why Democrat leaders are so dumb i.e. Biden and Harris? Dumb as dogshyte.

What does that say to the level intelligence of democrat supporters?

I wish I knew.

Not only was she elected as the Democratic nominee, but also this:

2007 - elected San Francisco District Attorney with 98.5% of the vote.

2010 - elected California Attorney General (overseeing the largest state Justice Department in the U.S.}

2014 - elected California Attorney General (again).

2016 - elected to the United States Senate in California

2020 - elected Vice President.

Some days I think Frank might be having a little too much medication.

Losers.

Harris was the only candidate eligible to receive votes after no other candidate qualified by the party’s deadline.

We all know your political acumen is in the toilet, its obvious by the amount of times you have to make up numbers to try and score a point or the amount of times you run away from a thread when proved wrong.
All those word salad posts are just that, word salad, you just trying to prove that you are smart when in reality you are so dumb.
So here I am sitting back, popcorn in hand waiting for trump to bugger up,it wont be long, just 2 short years before he loses the house and the senate.
Given the state of the gop currently it may be much sooner before trump loses the house.

But be my guest ,continue to support the adjudicated rapist, 34 times convicted felon and utterly vile man,we all know what you will do when the truth about trump comes out.

Oh just a reminder, still waiting for your answer as to why trump fought for 3 years to not have dna evidence admitted into court, lets see if you have grown any balls in the last few months.
